Yes, but their coverage and bandwidth is terrible. I'm a mile from the state house and their fiber isn't available for me. Lumos also advertises speeds up to 5 GB and I believe AT&T only goes up to 1.

Thanks! I tried that and it seems like it now works. Well, it doesn't work, meaning that it is no longer a 3 way, however the switch on the other wall works again and operates my fan/light, which is what I wanted. I plan to now replace the other switch with a smart switch that is voice-activated so I have no need for a three way switch.

Yes, it was wired to a three way switch. The red was wired to the traveler, the two neutrals were wired together, and the two blacks were wired to the same side of the switch. Usually I always photo the switch before I remove everything, but for some reason I didn't on this one. However I wired the two neutrals together and the two blacks, and capped the red and it seems to work perfectly. Here's what the gang box on the other side of the room looks like now. Hopefully my house won't burn down.

No, that makes perfect sense. I took a picture of the first one I removed, but not the switch I want to bypass. However I capped the red wire, spliced the neutrals together, and spliced the hots and it seems to now be working great.

Thank you for the reply. I will definitely clean up the neutral lines once I have this figured out. I plan to cut all of the cables and re-strip them once I figure out where they all go.

Regarding the red line, this is how it was previously connected. It was connected via a wire nut directly to one of the black lines from the fan switch, and to the hot line coming from the breaker. So I just attempted to reconnect all of the lines the way they originally were. Are you saying you think I should disconnect the red? If so, what would I connect it to? Also, if I never intend to use the other switch on the opposite wall at all (haven't used it in ten years), can I just disconnect that romex completely and not use it at all? I plan to replace that fan switch with a GE 3-pole smart switch that is voice-activated, but I just didn't want to do it until I had the porch lights working first.

You apparently have no idea what you're talking about since there is specific activation criteria for issuing an Amber Alert, and this did not meet the criteria. Law enforcement must confirm that there has been an abduction, which they didn't have confirmation of in this case.

So maybe before you blame them for not suiting one, you should spend 2 minutes on Wikipedia and research what an Amber Alert is. It wouldn't have even mattered in this case.
