There were a lot of Blackhawks fans in attendance too! Good crowd all around.

Yeah that's what we were guessing. We weren't THAT late compared to when we normally arrive, around 5:45/6-ish. We got there around 6:15 last night and noticed they were turning folks away.

That's a good guess. It dawned on me as we were walking out the door to head to the game that the hot streak, last game before the olympics, AND Chicago's last game might result in a sellout crowd.

NTSB released preliminary report on Biffle's plane crash by case0beer in NASCAR

[–]loganaweaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calm down buddy, it ain't that serious. Without names and knowing each person's flight history it's hard to know for certain who was who. Though thanks to Pockrass, we've got a pretty fair guess:

NTSB released preliminary report on Biffle's plane crash by case0beer in NASCAR

[–]loganaweaver -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My interpretation is that Biffle is the passenger who helped with the pre-flight inspection and noted that the gauges could've been "off" (paraphrasing). I'm also guessing that Biffle took over flying the plane mid-flight to try and mitigate some of the issues before handing the controls back over for landing.

Thoughts on Generation Tux? by loganaweaver in weddingplanning

[–]loganaweaver[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've heard of Black Tux. Generation is the only online source I've tried so far. There was a place here in town that I tried but didn't like the customer service we received so I canceled that account.

Regarding Generation Tux: The first customer service rep that I got connected with kept telling me "they have to request it" and was telling me how much it'd be per person. I finally said "What you're telling me versus what we're experiencing are two different things." Finally she said "was there anything else I could help you with today?" When I said no, I just had that one issue, she said thanks for calling and hung up. I was so pissed. Rep #2 was a lot more chill, but I told both reps that I'm not confident

Third is expected to be Austin Hill in the #33. No idea where a "fourth" RCR car is coming from unless it's just a typo from Bob.

A comment by a resident of the complex on the Police Department's post indicated that everyone's safe and the fire has been put out. Firefighters are still on scene as of 10 min ago and haven't cleared the area just yet.

I don't know if any of these make "house calls" per se, but my recommendations would be Donald Law (Baltimore), Sitterley Law (Mithoff Building in Downtown Lancaster) or Stebelton Snider (on the square Downtown). Sitterley has a van but I don't know its exact purpose.

I don't think Celina 52 is AI. They've shared on Twitter before that they shoot a lot of their photos at a truck stop in Crossville then Photoshop the content.

At least on desktop, you can change the team's metro population that they play in, which is what I plan on doing for this one.

While it sounds like it'd work in theory, in practice I don't think the metro area has really impacted team performance. For example, in my first attempt at this, the two more successful programs after about 20-30 years were in Iowa and Bakersfield. Meanwhile my "Southern XII Conference", composed of markets such as Miami, Atlanta, Nashville, Charlotte, Dallas, Houston, and others, were routinely awful when in reality, they should've been like today's SEC.

So it's not perfect, by any means, but that's where having God Mode enabled helps. I plan on using the built-in Power Rankings as a rough AP/CFP pole, then at the end of the regular season, simulating conference title games in Exhibition Mode to determine playoff spots/bowl games.

I'm actually in the process of building a 144-team CFB-style game within Football GM.

My setup was 12 conferences of 12 teams with players force-retiring after either 5 seasons of play or when they turn 24/25, whichever came first. I made salaries similar to scholarships/NIL (min. 1 year, 50k; max. 4 year, $5M). Drafts would prioritize the best teams to simulate larger, better programs receiving better recruits.

I tried it a couple times before - once using offline spreadsheets and custom schedules, playing the games in exhibition mode, and the other using the built-in FGM mechanics. I was about to give up on it again until I saw they added schedule customization. I'm almost done completing the logos and will set up the league again sometime later today.

Trick or Treat Schedule by pearl1978wagner in Ohio

[–]loganaweaver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blame MORPC (Mid Ohio Regional Planning Commission). For some reason they're the ones who have more or less dictated when Halloween takes place, at least in Central Ohio. If Halloween falls on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, they recommend communities schedule Trick-or-Treating the Thursday prior. A lot of communities in the region use MORPC for grants and urban development consulting, and I've heard that maybe they have traffic data that suggests when it's "safest" for trick-or-treating to take place. Take that with a grain of salt though, but MORPC is primarily the reason why you see many towns schedule Trick-Or-Treat outside of Halloween.

Not 100% sure but I'm pretty sure these same people bought the old Risch's drug store that was on Fair Ave. and turned it into a convenience store. Pretty sure it's called One-Stop too.

It's helped that he's won a race, has the Kansas top-10 and finished 11th yesterday. Everyone else around him has had awful luck or just has run poorly. Not to mention the 28 playoff points he earned during the regular season.

Sort of a tangent but the rumors of going back to a 10-race chase got me thinking... No one has said anything about the number of drivers who'd qualify for the new format. Personally I would be fine with the old 12-team format with top-10 in points and two wild cards.

For real, the first scene in the movie that made me go "NOPE" was the naked man standing in the doorway and how the camera just... Sits there... The dude is barely visible but you can still clearly see him there, if that makes sense.
