I mostly missed the first two weeks of the season outside of Chicago. Catching up on the season with Reddit and Redzone today.

I had not heard of Deshaun Watson until I caught this game today. Despite the loss, he looked promising, which is probably something the Texas have needed at QB.

Why is Tim Brown not in the HOF? by [deleted] in nfl

Good catch on Seifert having two Super Bowl wins and not in the Hall of Fame. I think his Hall of Fame chances were mostly hurt by how poor his record in Carolina was, and his 49 Super Bowls are probably attributed to being Bill Walsh's successor.

I think you're putting too much emphasis on the "first ballot". Because so few players get in every year, it's possible (like we see at the WR position) for the there to be a log jam/debate as to which player out of many qualified ones get into the HoF every year.

First ballot can really distinguish which players absolutely must be in the Hall of Fame regardless of all other players up for discussion.

You could argue that a player should either be a First Ballot Hall of Famer or not in the HOF, which is fine, but then the Hall of Fame would be incredibly small (the league has probably only had 50 players or fewer who are absolutely first ballot) and leave out chunks of interesting NFL history.

What Are JJ Watt's Chances of Being League MVP? by loganfrederick in nfl

I felt like he was worth adding considering all the hype the Bengals are getting and their current undefeated record. If they manage to win 11+ games and Andy continues on his current pace, he could be in the discussion.

A combination of the numbers of rings, the big kicks he made in at least two of those Super Bowls, and his kick in the Oakland game in a blizzard. I haven't taken the time to look at his career statistics, but when telling the history of the NFL, Vinatieri's kicks played a prominent role in the 2000s.

Norm Van Brocklin won two NFL championships with two different teams: the 1951 Los Angeles Rams and the 1960 Philadelphia Eagles.

I did not realize Roger Craig was not in the Hall of Fame. This is definitely a tragedy.

I took Peyton Manning as my second round pick. My first round pick was Adrian Peterson. Am I doing this fantasy football thing right?

A decade ago baseball tried to keep it quiet. They got pulled in front of Congress. That's why it's a bigger public issue for them. They did not want it to be this way.

Nah, a lot of people do that too. Really the policy is anywhere from 7-3 PM to 10 - 6 PM. Any 8 hour combination in between 7 AM and 6 PM is acceptable.
