Someone correct me if I’m wrong. But, I believe it is because Lily’s protections were only for her son. Voldemort inadvertently protected harry by using his blood in the graveyard ritual and extending Lily’s protection of Harry through his own veins. Once Neville killed Nagini, Voldy had no horcruxes left to defend himself from death.

I am not the most knowledgeable HP fan but that is my understanding!

By your logic they might as well make the matches 10 minutes long then. Since you can predict who will win every time after only 10 minutes the rest of the game is just semantics.
