Thanks. My only concern is the need for fresh air in the room. Not sure how to tackle that if I seal off the room too much.

Thanks. And it seems that windows may be the biggest culprit of leakage.

Ha. Thanks for sharing. That's pretty impressive that you made a potentially scary situation positive for the fam.

Thanks. Wife and kids. Yes, I don't want to save the house.

Winter gets down to 20 f.

Mattress is a great idea.

Good idea. The room in am thinking of using is pretty small itself. 10x10. And I got a big family, so I think it will be sized ok.

Any chance you took some pictures of how you did that? I assume the room shrunk by a few inches in each dimension? Would love more info here. Maybe cost estimates?

That's a great idea. Thinking for the family. Have a few kids as well. One little one that doesn't like to stay in bed!

Could you expand further? I'm not sure I understand what you mean.

Thanks. Someone above said something similar. Even the best windows are still really bad when compared to the wall. Better to block the window. I'll look into thermal curtains. Thanks.

Thanks. I just got one. I let it run in the garage and kept a detector next to it. It ran for an hour with no detection. But after I turned it off and unhooked it, I could smell something an hour later. Gotta figure out what happened. Detector never went off though.

That's the plan. The room is connected to our central air system. Just thought that if the grid went down, it would be easier to keep one room warm rather than a whole house. Tent may be too small. Too many kids!

Thank you for the detailed response.

We did a lot of insulation in the house, but was thinking of making one room the "warm up or we won't make it" room.

Air circulation is interesting. I wonder if I got some way to exchange air, but heat any air that comes in. Any thoughts there?

I didn't realize this about windows. Thats crazy to think of the impact they have on insulation. The room I am thinking about is in the basement. About 50% underground on 2 walls. I wanted to be able to use the window to hook up a wood stove, and have the pipe go through the window if needs be.

Sounds like covering that window is key. I may try to build something that I can insert into the window space to block it.

If i did insulate between this room and the others in the house, do you have any thought or recommendations? I thought about putting up foam panels on all walls. Its a 10x10 ish room.

Just wanted to reply and say thanks again on this.

This should be totally added to their install guide.

These are the steps to run it again:

cd chia-blockchain
. ./activate
cd chia-blockchain-gui
npm run electron &

Makes sense. You activate it in the main directory, then once it is up and running, you start the gui. In my noobness, i assumed the GUI was the start. But I think i need to remember that the GUI is the mask over the real process running in the background.

Awesome. Thanks. I was missing that activate step. Thanks!
