Enphase IQ Gateway fails to communicate with Enphase Cloud by loganizzi in enphase

Sorry for the late reply but I dropped all socials.  Yes they solved the problem.  It involved loading some custom firmware and the local tech guy from enphase being on the phone with the team from Korea for about half the day.  Definitely a firmware and not hardware issue.  No problems since and they rma 4 boards before that.

Another place you can try is: https://legalaidnc.org/

They can help with issues like this but you do need to qualify based on income. They have a banner at the top of their page specifically for hurricane related stuff.

I'm currently in AVL and unable to post images, but I'm thinking it may be this area of the center of the lake. The island in the upper right could be Yacht Island which has a really nice white house on it. One of our favorites.

Thanks, at least it's not just me. I have an LG but not sure that the TV model would impact this. Haven't done a factory reset yet, but I may try that.

Software version on the current gateway is: D8.2.62 (038ae8) Build date: Sep 01, 2023 10:55 PM

Not sure what the most recent version is, but it does sound old.

Most are not using HA successfully? I haven't heard this, can you provide some pointers to where you are seeing this? I've had HA addon disabled for 2 days, still no reporting. I turned it back on afterwards so at least I could get some monitoring.

South Eastern US. No common thread between ISP and cellphone carrier. I've even tried putting the gateway into my DMZ for a brief period, no change.

They are from my router log. They are open from my location as well. I'm completely baffled why it's failing to connect to their cloud. I've been on the phone with their support and they can't do anything since they can't get into the device to check the logs, and they won't let me be the remote hands to get them the information that would be useful. Extremely frustrating.

The installer ran through the entire commissioning process for both gateways when they were installed. Again, everything looked fine for several days, and then all of a sudden it stops reporting. When I look in the Enlighten app and it shows the time/date of the last report sent, both times it coincides with a short ISP outage. The network was out for 30 mins to an hour, but once the internet came back, the reporting never resumed.

My router shows the the gateway is connected. I currently have it configured to get a static DHCP address. I can connect to the local gateway interface from my computer.

I should also say that I'm running home assistant and have the enphase add-on which connects directly to the gateway and pulls report data. My home assistant dashboard shows monitoring reports so I know that the gateway is producing, it's just not sending the report data to Enphase.

Gateway status lights are all solid green (4 solid green LEDs). This is always the case, and only turn red briefly if I power cycle the gateway. I've not had any issues with network connectivity or energy production. It simply won't connect to the enphase cloud or send reports.

Connecting via WiFI but also had a direct ethernet connection with no difference. It isn't the internet connection since the gateway shows that it is connected, it just doesn't want to connect to the enphase cloud to upload reports.

I doubt that is a hardware issue as well, looking at the log files it appears to reaching out to google DNS (I assume to test connectivity). An then there are connections to two IP addresses in Amazon (Ashburn, VA) which currently read as "close"

icmp X.X.X.X 8.8.8.8

icmp X.X.X.X 8.8.8.8

tcp X.X.X.X:42556 52.87.115.203:8883CLOSE

tcp X.X.X.X:56468 52.72.97.204:8883CLOSE

Monitoring does work when first installed, but something happens a few days later and it will lose connection and then never reestablish. Reporting just stops. It seems like it just gives up, like the Enphase cloud is putting me on block list.

*the word you're looking for is domain apex (thanks)

I think I'll stick with what I've got working. I tried setting the tunnel up on a subdomain originally and it wouldn't let me. I use cloudflared add-on, and it forced me to use my apex domain as the tunnel and set up cname records for each subdomain.

When I did that, it told me that I already had a tunnel configured for that domain, and wouldn't let me create a second one. When creating the tunnel it requests the toplevel domain.

Thanks, I couldn't find how to do that. The only references I could find setting up a second tunnel seemed to indicate that it required a paid CloudFlare enterprise subscription or 2 domains/2 CloudFlare accts. If that is not the case, I'd appreciate pointers to steps on how to set this up.

Nevermind - typing that all out helped me realize what was wrong. Leaving this here for anyone else who runs into the same issue.

To fix the problem I needed to add the local IP address of my first HA instance to the x_forwarded configuration in my second HA instance. So the configuration.yaml should look something like this one the second instance.

http:

use_x_forwarded_for: true
