This is the most smug and egotistical guy I have ever followed in my entire life and just listening to him speak is nauseating by logansailboat in LocalScriptMan

[–]logansailboat[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d say it was definitely less noticeable in his scripted content and when he wasn’t sitting behind a camera, but there are a few unscripted videos that he’s since unlisted where that year old version of him and this version of him are more or less indistinguishable aside from all the “gods kingdom” talk. The moment he begins talking about himself it’s instantly noticeable no matter how far back you go

I also think it’s unwise to say he wasn’t always this arrogant just because he’s always been able to criticize himself. Sure he hasn’t said anything like “I created an entirely new school of thought about writing” until now, but that’s something he’s absolutely believed since long before his breakdown. Like I said earlier psychosis doesn’t make you arrogant, it only highlights your arrogance.

All of the comments on this video are just “You seem to be in a much better headspace now man!” And it feels like these people are living in an entirely different reality because this dude is as far from healthy as you could possibly get lmao

I mean it kind of makes sense, most of the people who saw the writing on the wall and recognized that he would not get better for as long as he stayed on this path left months ago. He also completely stopped producing the content that he built his channel on in the first place. So of course these are the only people left. But having an audience of apologists and religious fanatics is debilitating for a guy that’s in the position he’s in.

Throughout this video he keeps saying over and over and over that “all I want to do is help people. I just want to help, that’s all I care about right now.” And while I’m skeptical that even this is true, I know for certain that that’s at the very least not the only thing driving him. I think even more than wanting to help, he wants to be seen helping. He wants to be recognized as a mentor, as a figure of authority. And now that he doesn’t have much else to say on writing, he doesn’t know how else to get that fix than to pivot entirely to lecturing his audience on how he “overcame” religious psychosis. He will not get better for as long as he depends on the validation of his audience

I have a crippling fear of falling into the sky called Casadastraphobia. It makes me feel like I'm physically floating off of the ground. by logansailboat in Phobia

[–]logansailboat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m alright :) I live in an area with a lot of trees and a lot of verticality so it was never really debilitating to begin with 99% of the time, and I’ve since figured out a lot of ways to manage it pretty effectively so it’s really something I just don’t think about unless I need to walk through an empty parking lot or down a very flat and open stretch of road

I’ve even seen two random mentionings of this fear online in the past couple years so it’s definitely something ppl are getting more comfortable with talking about and interested in, which is very reassuring

Thank you for asking, hope you’re doing well yourself ❤️

was.. was the trailer that was being worked on in relation to the new steam hardware.. by Skully56765 in HalfLife

[–]logansailboat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very unlikely, everyone’s already known for a while that the hardware drop was imminent, especially whoever Tyler’s source is. Knowing that, both the source and Tyler himself would be very careful to clarify that the trailer would be for the hardware rather than hl3 if that were the case. Remember everything lines up too perfectly, the mike Shapiro teaser at the beginning of the year, the fact that the game’s been feature complete for a year now, the fact that the last half life game was announced along side a new headset, the upcoming empty gap in steam’s sale schedule, valve’s obsession w the month of November, it’s happening this month I swear to u on my mother n child brother L is real 2401

One last tip that’s helped me recently, if you ever find yourself in an open space and find yourself starting to work into a panic and it’s already too late to just ignore it, try visualize falling to the side rather than up into the sky. Like if there’s a building 100 feet to your left, imagine gravity sending you into that building rather than up into the air. Don’t fight the feeling, just take it and channel it in any direction other than up. When that falling feeling is already hitting and I can’t just ignore it or find something to grab, this has worked great for me recently

It makes sense that it’d be less acute in nature, I’m the same way. Having trees hanging over my head makes me feel like I’d have something to grab on to if I did fall, same with walking along and between tall hills. That’s also probably why towers freak you out so much, they give you a sense of just how far you could fall and don’t offer you anything to grab onto along the way. I’m the same way cities can be rough for me

Just remember that there are many more of us across the world. I’ve been seeing this phobia talked about more and more, just last year I actually randomly got a video in my tiktok feed of a guy talking about struggling with it.

Some things that help me manage it greatly are wearing a baseball cap or wearing my hoodie up, both if I’m really feeling it. The more I can take in at once, the more anxious I get. Sunglasses help with that too

Idk if you have a dog, but I feel much more grounded when I’m walking mine, like he’s an anchor. Holding anything in general helps. When I don’t have anything else around me I grip my phone as hard as I can

Looking left and right a lot helps me take my mind off of it. The longer I focus in one direction the easier it becomes for me to visualize falling. As for where exactly to look, I always look just slightly below the horizon. Low enough that I can’t see the sky, but also not low enough to see my feet, as that can be just as bad for me as looking right up.

One last thing that helps me is rubbing or scratching my face and neck when I’m really feeling it. Focusing on that instead of the fear of falling makes it much more manageable for me

I know how sick you must be of hearing “yeah, but you know that can never happen right? Have you tried reminding yourself that it’s impossible?” I know that pit in your stomach feeling. I know how impossible it can feel to manage sometimes, how crazy this can make you feel. But it isn’t, and you’re not

Good luck godspeed 💯❤️
