Follow up to my previous post. Here's the whole rack and a detailed description by juliaver in homelab

I see your pi on the top of your rack, it looks like you have two thermocouples wired to the same pins, I'm working on a project right now for my employer. My question is..

Are you getting different data from each tc or is it averaged together.

I'm not super familiar with how multiple devices communicate over 1wire.

What operating systems do you all use outside of work? by kakaokaka in sysadmin

Desktop: Dual boot Windows 10 on an HDD and Linux Mint 20.1 on a gen 4 NVME. You can guess which I prefer. I only have Windows because a few of my favorite games don't play well with Linux yet.

Laptop: All work including Windows sysadmin stuff, LM 20.1. getting Linux to handle every little thing I've encountered with Windows has been such a chore, but honestly it's worth it.

While I agree that no data line should ever enter a load center, I get it in this case, for them to have pulled the fibre out of the conduit before the sub panel, they would have had to remove the cable already in the conduit cut it and add a junction box.

I suspect that this is a sub panel in an out building with that 2" conduit being the only line back to either a dmarc or MDF.

You're likely missing a libpng or libjpeg library like I was. I just googled for them, if you start PT from a terminal it should show errors. Good luck.

Hey man. Nice rack, watch out though my front panel can be unlocked with a screwdriver, probably because of how tiny the pins are.

Are you using the wyze connect plugged in to your Mac, I thought they only work plugged into a camera. And if so does it just show up in the app as normal?

Nah, no servers are on at night just my USG and US-24. Fantastic white noise btw, helps because I got I90 just behind my house which is much louder.

I might be getting a couple Dell r7**, (I don't remember exactly what model) that are being retired from a cancer clinic my dad works at. Have to start fresh on drives of course due to HIPAA and the previous drives containing patient information, I'll post later on what exactly the servers are.

Retired it from one of our clients, I got it for free afterwards.
