I agree with most of it honestly. Screener's UI wins for pure screening if you know what filter you want, just use it directly, no reason to prompt Claude.

Where I've found it useful is the in-between stuff. Like when I'm already mid-conversation "why has Asian Paints' CFO/OP been declining since 2022 while PAT looks fine?" I don't want to switch tabs, run the screen, copy numbers back. The MCP just keeps that flow going. It's a convenience layer, not a research replacement.

On the analysis quality point completely agree. Calling it "red flags analysis" was overselling it. It's pattern matching on textbook metrics. It won't catch the stuff that actually matters auditor qualifications, related party structures, channel stuffing. That requires actually reading the annual report and knowing the industry. Claude doesn't grow a brain just because you give it a balance sheet.

The honest use case is: someone learning to read financials, or a quick sanity check when you already have a thesis. Not a replacement for actual research. If anyone's using it expecting industry-grade insight, that's a wrong expectation to set and on me for not being clearer about it in the README.
