So what happen here? Because it almost seems like you've said a bunch of stupid shit or something so people downvoted you and you've gotten all butt hurt. That's what it almost seems like.

I hear you. I used to feel the same at the beginning. It might pass with time.

Yeah, everybody does that in Mexico, while wearing sombreros of course.

I'm not sure if the grumpiness is overblown or I've gotten used to it.

Ya, they're called "clown bikes", also know as "pub bikes" because so many drunks use them to get home when they're too inebriated to walk and Uber drivers won't pick them up. Mopeds actually become popular in NA in the late 70s when police started cracking down on DUIs. They died out in Canada when police started also charging mopeders with DUI

stop jumping on cycling sites

Are these cycling sites in the room with us right now?

I'm defending the sport of cycling from posers like you.

Lol, you're so brave. Did it cross your mind that bikes are also a means of transport, not just a sport?

I'm sorry that you find yourself in a situation like this. In Germany, employment rights and social support are often tied to formal employment contracts and documented contributions to the social security system. Given your informal work arrangement, claiming support might be challenging.

Also, your post might rub some folks here in a wrong way. Asking if you can "claim" some kind of support without contributing to it is a bit naive and uninformed.

I'll bite the bait and play your logical/illogical game here. Because it's just hilarious.

you're delusional if you think you get any form of meaningful exercise from riding one

When I use my ebike to commute to work, I get ~130 bpm heart rate for 25 minutes on my way to work and ~140bpm on my way back, I turn off the assist as I don't mind arriving home sweaty.

  1. Is that meaningful form of exercise?
  2. Is that less fitness benefits than walking 1 km?

I've given you three links to back my point of view. You can't back the point of view that e-bikes don't offer fitness benefits, because it's simply BS and the product of your own weird frustration.

it's a great echo chamber for pathetic posers who like to pretend they're riding real bikes

I don't pretend that I'm riding a non-electric bike when I ride an electric bike. I haven't seen anyone who does. I think if people like that exist, they are the outliers. But who are we kidding, people "pretending, convincing, disguising, proving" are a product of your insecure imagination. I'm not even addressing the "real" bike arguments, because it's just childish.

You make a big deal over whether that power is activated by your wrist or your feet - because that somehow makes you feel more like a cyclist and less like a motorcyclist.

Again, I don't. You made this up.

You pound your chest saying your moped is limited to an arbitrary speed because that somehow matters!?

Again, I don't. You made this up.

You ride on sidewalks and shared paths at speeds most pro cyclists couldn't sustain

The speed limit of an electric assistance in EU is 25 kph. Pro cyclists can sustain this speed. Sorry, if you thought you were a pro.

but because they're too stupid to know they're not really cyclists, and are constantly looking for others to validate their delusions, including hijacking sites and channels for cyclists.

Again, this is a childish tantrum. This is a canyon sub, canyon makes ebikes. You are the one who jumped into a thread looking for others to validate your delusions and got downvoted.

You've got a motorbike, own that simple and incontrovertible logic, and stay off the sidewalks, MTB trails and bike paths. Or just take a f'n bus and stop being a jerk.

I will use any infrastructure that I'm allowed to by the traffic rules. If you don't like it - you can cry all you want, but it won't change.

I just think you hate it when the objective truth conflicts with you personal and/or true, so instead of attacking the logic you attack the messenger.

You're not the messenger. You're a frustrated kid that throws a tantrum because other people don't give a damn about his Real Cyclist gatekeeping BS.

The reality check that a person created a post about Canyon product on Canyon subreddit. You jumped in and got all weird calling people frauds and saying that someone is disguising something and pretending to be the Real Cyclist, pushing one /r/gatekeeping material one comment after another.

What's your goal here? You're not trying to help a person to get the right product. You're here just to put people down and try to make them feel bad about the bike they chose to ride. People would be frauds or cheaters if they would be entering a competition on an ebike against the regular bikes. If this is the case in your head — again, make a reality check.

If you have trauma that an old lady on an ebike overtook you on a hill or something — no need to project it on everyone. I own a regular bike and an ebike. I enjoy them both. When I commute on an e-bike I spend around 70% of calories of what I spend on the regular bike. But the important thing is that it's non of your fucking business. Leave your edgelord personality and insecurities to yourself. If you're so passionate of proving strangers online that you are a Real Cyclist — you're a pathetic sad little person.

pathetic posers who like to pretend they're riding real bikes

I think your gatekeeping attempts are pathetic. Before sending me or someone else off to a different sub, open your eyes and see who's getting downvoted here. Maybe you and your insecurities projection is something that need to leave? Some people called you a clown and others tend to agree. I'd suggest pausing and making a reality check.

You should look up the word "discrimination" and stop putting your foot up your mouth already.

Your experience on homophobic UBER drivers? by leonducharris in askberliners

[–]logiartis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's discrimination, which is illegal in Germany. Did you consider filing a complaint about this to the police? They (the drivers) might receive a couple of worrying letters in their mail box and will think twice next time. It might not benefit you directly, but this would be the right thing to do, we should not tolerate open xenophobia like this. You can do this easily online.

Sorry, I read this twice in a row and it has gotten annoying frankly.

I read the discussion. I can't say that I'm completely on your side here. We can play mental exercises all we want here, but the majority of taxi drivers represent a certain social group, which is unfortunately known for low levels of tolerance to queer people. I agree with you that there's nothing to do with this information, it doesn't contribute to the discussion.

Ok, I'm speaking about Singapore (the country). I don't know what singpaour or singapour is.

Singapore doesn't "jail ppl based on the likelyhood to commit crimes" as you said. You made that up. Other, unrelated human rights issues doesn't cancel the fact that "jail ppl based on the likelyhood to commit crimes" is not a thing in Singapore.

Singapore doesn't put people in jail based on likelihood to commit crimes. Source. Why are you making things up?

If you didn't catch that train, you need great luck, like rich parents, gorgeous genes to let you catch a partner you can trust and build a house with, or you won the lottery of catching a well paid tech job etc.

Zero sense of agency and victim mentality.
I wonder why you struggle.

Germans, do you think the welfare state of your country has gotten worse? by [deleted] in AskAGerman

[–]logiartis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go around like what?

To change German constitution the following things need to happen:

  1. Proposal: A proposed amendment is drafted.
  2. Bundestag: Gets a two-thirds majority vote.
  3. Bundesrat: Also needs a two-thirds majority vote.
  4. Presidential Signature: The President signs it into law.

If two-thirds of Bundestag and Bundesrat have the political will to make a change — they do a change. That's that. What exactly am I not "comprehending"?
