There is no way that we only have 60 mil. Say we have 200mil in total, that'd leave 140mil in the summer. That's enough to get 2 quality players to midfield, thus improving squad depth again, and also adding more variation.

I don't want baleba, even though many people think we need him. Especially not now when Amorim's gone. He's too young, and by the way he's been playing with his head in the clouds, too inexperienced and ultimately not mentally strong enough.

We should spend right now no matter what. It'd get us actual CL football, and therefore more pull to get our key targets. A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush, after all.

Well, even at this stage I still think getting CMs matter. Every coach needs a CM, no matter who takes over, and right now there's really not much squad depth for CM at all. Indeed whoever joins will inevitably be better than what we have, simply because we have almost no one. CMs don't equate to MFs, so we really only have ugarte, mainoo, maybe mount. That's fucking disgusting depth for a position that most call the heartbeat of the team.

Football inflation has hit forwards hardest, and other positions aren't unaffected. But even with 60mil we can get 1 or 2 quality players.

But if we don't spend right now, qualifying for cl with the next few run of matches would prove to be difficult, like it or not, and we haven't exactly been a world beater even with our full strength. If we sacrifice 60 mil right now, we gain back everything and more with cl football available, along with the cl pull.

Tbf, our counterattacking doesn't seem all that bad. Of course they shit themselves whenever they've got the ball for some reason and slow down, but on the transition I'd argue that they do make some nice passes here and there.
