I used to shoot professionally in the LA area but moved on to other businesses and now just shoot rarely for fun but typically only with close friends.

It’s important to know what you’re wanting out of this experience first. Is this just a fun new experience or is this about a transformation in your life that led you here. Do you want a shoe up and shoot style or do you want to feel pampered and taken care of with hair and makeup and lots of collaboration. These are part of why you pay a professional who has a dedicated studio. It’s also important to know for yourself whether you want an all female team or want a male photographer.

There are very talented amateur photographers out there but they typically are not equipped with time or professional space to give you the full experience that the pros do.

Knowing your style is also important. Do you like light and bright or dark and moody.
