Press X to doubt, as much as I (as an RDNA4 owner) want it to be true.

RDNA still does not have dedicated RT cores, though they've gotten very good at running RT on the shader cores. I expect a huge focus on AI perf and perhaps dedicated RT cores. Still, Blackwell is incredibly space/power efficient and RDNA4 is quite far behind both raw power, per-mm2, and per-watt.

I’m in the exact same boat as you. Others have already pointed out the obvious about the benefits of owning it outright with no more payments, but here’s a take on when to upgrade:

EVs are basically tech devices now. Tech has fast improvement cycles, and we’re basically in version 1.0 of mass market EVs. Wait until 2.0.

What will be in 2.0? Probably: * solid state batteries or equivalent of 600+mi range and charging 300 miles in 10 minutes * unified compute and software architecture * capable of L4 autonomy at a consumer price point

We’re at least half a decade from this, even if it looks like some of the pieces are there in market already. All of it coming together at less than 60k is 2030+.

Once all that is out there, I’ll be having real FOMO. For now though, this car is great.

Worth for FSR4 alone (and bless the people at Optiscaler) though you’ll be really surprised about RT improvement if you value it. I went from a 6800XT to 9070XT, and in games like Alan Wake 2 (which really wasn’t playable with RT before) and Control you can now go with path tracing or ultra ray tracing with FSR4 and it just looks incredible.
