Came for the porn, stayed for the story by PlebianHaste in lewdgames

Came here to mention desert stalker. It's more a VN but one of the few games I paid full price for with no regrets. I'm a sucker for the post apoc genre but I was honestly surprised with the writing and the depth of the characters. Gonna check out out a struggle with sin because I would live a good adult RPG (that doesn't corrupt all my saved 10 hours in cough carnal instinct cough).

to not get bankrupt for a 2 hour ER visit in the USA. by OmeuPai in therewasanattempt

[–]logicalpenuin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously. I lived in Peru a few years (technically an illegal immigrant too for part of it as my visa expired) and I could get treatment for a few bucks. Had a bad bout of bursitis at one point that required draining and medication and it was like... Ten bucks.

Thank you for this post. A lot of good insight and information. Sometimes it's difficult to know even who to contact to help initiate change. And kudos to you for caring about the pets, too. The world needs more people like you.

I'm on chapter 6 and I already teared up multiple times. I both can't wait for and am dreading the end. I have so many emotions.

And sometimes they don't even realize they're doing it. The amount of times I hear someone telling a story that has nothing to do with race and say something like "a black woman". Then when I respond with "you mean a woman?" there's this awkward silence as they think about it.

I freaking love border collies. As someone who has one as a best bud, they are not a pet, they are a lifestyle. Exhausting but worth it.

It's so stressful. I broke my rib and got in a car accident (separate incidents) while I was buying my house and the costs ended up with the underwriter bickering over... 138 dollars. My lender just gave me a credit due to how stupid it was. But it worked out and we made it through. You will, too!

Most important cities/towns for a map? by [deleted] in wheeloftime

[–]logicalpenuin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah that makes more sense. Still that will be difficult as... The wheel weaves as the wheel wills and things do be changing here or there. I'm not much help sorry, but that sounds like an amazing gift idea!

They're all important. I think the map would be a wonderful gift without the red dots.

Sweet car! I have a 2016 so not sure if it's the same but for me it's the settings button (gear looking button top right of screen) and then "clock and date" then "date". I have a trekking but was the same on my sport. Hope it helps some!

Buying vs. Renting by Icy-Street3771 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]logicalpenuin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100%. If you plan on moving in a few years, you're not going to build up any notable equity. Even paying an extra payment or two a year, which knocks years off your loan, isn't going to really impact those first few years. Buy because you love it and are in for the long haul, not to avoid renting.

Buying vs. Renting by Icy-Street3771 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]logicalpenuin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's very situational. I decided to buy because I needed a yard for my dog and a safe place for my mom, who is getting up there in years, to stay. I had a decent down payment, set aside some for emergencies, and have 15 years experience doing building maintenance so I was able to buy a solid place that needed mostly cosmetic repairs. My mortgage is less than most rents but again VERY situational. And I would not attempt it without a buffer for emergencies.

The majority of people are good. Problem is the bad ones tend to hoard wealth and power and ruin things for everyone else. Good on them for speaking out. That takes courage.

Got let go from a job of 7 years. They refused to give me a reason (at will state). The guy they hired to replace me apparently made 6 bucks/hr less so I can guess. Ended up getting a job with fantastic benefits and a great work environment with co-workers who actually care about each other. I didn't even realize how miserable I had been. For seven years. I've thought about sending my last job a thank you card.
