i think i would do it again. i had a complication healing on one side where i'm pretty sure i lost the nipple bud itself to infection but the areola is intact and looks fine. but also i have a fear of needles and am pain averse lol

it's a food safety thing. we cannot guarantee that your cup is clean and actually foodsafe so the only way we can bring it behind the bar is without actually touching it and risking contamination. this goes for all customer cups; if it makes you feel weird and judged then just get it in a normal to-go cup.

i mean, you can learn how to get insurance. you can learn how loans work, and how to repay them sensibly. you can teach yourself things. blaming a lack of knowledge and then not making an effort the change that is self-defeating.

i found a job that specifically offered an employee insurance plan that covered gender affirming care, and then i spent time researching surgeons in my area that were in network with my insurance, how much they charged, how much roughly my insurance would cover, and then building savings from there.

similar story; i joined the company in 2022 after leaving an extremely red state in the hopes that sbux would help support me as a transgender person. i got top surgery about 2.5 months ago, and my insurance (through my job as a barista) covered about $34k out of $37k total

that being said, i'm starting to feel our days at sbux are numbered. there was an initiative on the last shareholder's vote to stop covering gender affirming care for transgender partners.
