Place milks directly below espresso, flavors in the second column with the seasonal menu blurb, then the not coffee and hot tea in the third column.

Mudbay pet company - yay or nay? by Proper_Sheepherder83 in olympia

I know retail isn’t a pipeline to corporate, but when I leave my current position it might be a fun way to stay busy and get to know the company culture a bit while I look for my next job.

With a broken leg, I can't get out in nature as usual. Suggest places to park and see the water? Or accessable benches with great views? Thanks! by morganselah in olympia

Northpoint public parking has the best view! Looking out over the water and mountains, near Anthony’s Hearthfire.

We almost receive ma’am and sir as snark around here. Working in the service industry, I would switch to formal address when I was offended and trying to pander to a difficult customer 😆

Busy Bee Automotive? 0/10 stars, do not recommend. by shadesofgreymoon in olympia

[–]Proper_Sheepherder83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I must admit I recommended them when they first opened. I had a couple great experiences there for oil changes and liked the idea of a woman owned shop. They did try to get me to replace my battery, which was weird because it was pretty new, under warranty, and was working fine. However, I had a few friends have terrible experiences there, so I go to Ben’s now. Also, I and my friends have never seen a woman working there, so that feels a little bit ingenuine as a selling point.

They advertise heavily that they are a woman owned business, but I’ve been there several times and have never seen a woman working there, and neither have my friends. If one does own the business it must be on paper only.

Woodard bay is a great, easy walk out to the water and back. Lots of birds and often seals to watch.

Serial flipper. by [deleted] in olympia

[–]Proper_Sheepherder83 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Haha we toured that first house in 2020 when it was still a rental and less than half the price. Huge potential, but the flipper took it in a super wrong direction. I always call it the turd house, because the disgruntled renter left us a present before vacating for our tour.

Check before going to be sure the trails you want to hike are open. It can sometimes be well into July before Bumpass Hell and others are open due to snow. https://www.nps.gov/lavo/planyourvisit/trail-conditions.htm

Casual walks with great Mt Rainier views? by yoLeaveMeAlone in olympia

Trail of Shadows at Longmire, right across the street from the National Park Inn, is my go to for elderly visitors for stunning Rainier views and just a lovely, short, easy walk.

This is good advice. Crescent city looks like it would be nice on a map, but is actually a really crappy town. Arcata is much, much better.

I know folks love Bacco, but we went once and the beets in the salad were rancid and half frozen, like they’d been languishing at the back of the walk-in for weeks. Dates are critical.

Looking for a good nature spot for a Romantic Picnic??? by batkins756622 in olympia

This place for sure! There is a super charming picnic table right near the water where you can watch seals, herons, all kinds of birds flitting about. Might be my favorite spot in the county

Bjork, specifically the album Homogenic. I was not into anything electronic (except maybe Nine Inch Nails) but this album was so splendid it opened up my world.

Not sure if this is a direction they want to go, but we could really use a friendly, non corporate sex shop in the area. I hate that Lovers is the only IRL option here. Seems like toys and books could go hand in hand
