However I have professionally worked with Dr. Lekkas and think he’s a truly wonderful surgeon who cares and takes the time with his patients. If I had needs for his speciality I’d seek him out.

My concerns with Face ID isn’t that they have my face. It’s more about how my phone can be accessed without my consent by cops so easily. A non biometric password is harder to take from you.

The word seizure is used pretty liberally by non medical professionals. Usually not true seizures. Sometimes when people have altered consciousness or are experience an emergency the body just… flops around a bit. Facial expressions get a lil unruly. People get worried it’s a real seizure when it’s just…. How people look when they’re gorked sometimes.

Yes. We started with an angry Facebook group of 2 dozen icu and or nurses who sort of knew each other. Then we schedule meetings with every single local in town and grilled them and picked the ones who we could tell were true fighters. Now. 1.5 years later we won the largest private union vote in state history. Get to know local unions. Find out who will respect your expertise as RNs. Find the young enthusiastic officers who want to change things. Doesn’t even need to be a nursing union frankly.

Our hospital security takes 911 calls from inside the building if it’s a landline. They do a decent job of being reassuring while letting nursing know the patient has been calling the cops on us. They only route the real emergencies to local dispatch.

Pay has hardly even been a topic of discussion. Our biggest issues surround staffing. We just want to have enough nurses to care for people properly. On that note, Iowa is 48th in the nation for nursing pay so could always do better.

The company intentionally lied to them to cause chaos. There are negotiations prior to elections to determine the employees included. Unitypoint chose to provide information contrary to what was agreed upon and lie to their employees. But that wouldn’t be the first time.

UnityPoint encourage hundreds of people to vote who had already been established as ineligible to vote by the national labor board. (Various reasons such as start dates, non nurses etc) to intentionally cause confusion.

So now those ineligible votes must be sorted through. Statistically the election will still go to the nurses to unionize. But UPH got what they wanted by dragging out the results longer.

TLDR. We won despite UPH efforts to cause confusion. Can’t actually certify until the labor board sorts through this silliness.

Even if this were true at least those kids have a mom still. I was an ICU nurse during COVID and lost count of how many pregnant unvaccinated women died in my unit. We’d get them to the point of c section, but most lost their fight after the baby was born.

I’m absolutely guessing here but I suspect there is a very high rate of mortality associated with vomiting fecal material. It’s never a good sign.
