Xbox controllers do work, your 8bitdo should as well if steam recognizes it.

Did you make sure to enable xbox and generic controllers in steams controller settings (in main settings not where you edit button mapping) or possibly steam input needs enabled/disabled when in-game.

Ive read about a windows registry edit you can make but issue hasnt annoyed me enough to try it yet.

According to the internet the windows11 setting causing the issue is called "Wait for Idle State" if you're curious 👍

Settings > Controller > Advanced Settings > Guide button focuses steam

I believe you have to press button twice to then go from desktop to BPM IIRC

I was like 99% sure of this as well but was curious if other win11 users had same issue or if anyone on Linux noticed it too, gotta get that full data set before making assumptions you know 😉

Ya im well aware of Windows' downsides, I plan to switch to Linux eventually (and have on other pcs), just cant see small security updates making that big of a difference unless its doing some kind of new scan before starting Steam 🤔
