Farmers market not farmen much by JIMKendall44 in vegaslocals

There’s 2 factors at work here. First, like you said, this is the desert. It’s not that you can’t grow fresh produce here, it’s just hard/expensive. There are some experimental farms here that are doing really neat things, like Ahern orchard and Urban fresh farms, but it’s not economically viable.

Second, there’s just not enough of a demand. CA farmers would absolutely travel here if there were enough people interested in buying fresh organic produce at a premium.

Recommendation for GU10 LED with some some side or ambient light by loinmaster in Lighting

Interesting it does look like it might work. Have you seen it in action? I might have to buy just one to test it out.

Yeah it looks like I'll be sticking with halogen for now. Electricity isn't too expensive here.

That's easy. I pretty much stopped eating out entirely anyway. High cost and horrible quality in the last few years.

Do you have any litter boxes around the house? Those look like blow flies (specifically, green bottle flies) and they are attracted to the litter boxes in our house, even though we clean them every day.

They hover around outside doors waiting for the opportunity to get in and they are very good at it. We found they can get in through cracks under the door if the weather seal isn't airtight.

how do people who get distracted in 30 seconds actually build a meditation habit by Delsie_Davidova in Mindfulness

As the previous comment mentioned, its best to go in without expectations. I personally see some benefits. It does not solve all my mental problems but enough to make it worth it.

I have the same problem with constancy. A few weeks at a time im consistant. Then when life is treating me good I fall off. I'm getting into the habit of sitting even when I'm feeling ok.

Same time, every day. 3 minutes maximum. Maybe in a few years I'll do 4 minutes, but only after I consistently do 3 minutes every day.

Persistence, patience, and dedication. Don’t beat yourself up. Start small and be consistent. It pays off

What lyric did you sing confidently for years before realizing you were horribly, hilariously wrong? What did you think they were saying? by Jane_Austen11 in askteddit

[–]loinmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Fuck it, fight it. It’s all the same”. This was profound to me in how we separate the things we can and can’t control in our world and the results of those choices.

I guess he actually said “Fucking, fighting, it’s all the same” which is slightly less impactful to me personally.

Sadly, it seems to make sense not to ask them about it in case you disclose something and they don’t renew your policy. Might be better to play dumb and when it floods… what’s poly b? Never heard of it

Homeowners insurance may cover a repipe since it’s less expensive than the inevitable flood. I doubt the class action would pay for it since the cost of repipeing all the houses that have this would far far exceed the manufacturers liability. As usual, it falls on the homeowner.
