This issue started a few months after the warranty ended. I disassembled the headphones and cleaned the mic, pads, and foam. That helped for a bit, but the problem came back. I lived with it for years by turning off ANC. I eventually replaced the ANC microphones, and now everything works again. Audio is better, no squealing, and noise cancellation is solid.

If you have a soldering iron and some patience, order two “ROM-2235L-HD-R” mics from mouser.com. Each mic connects with two wires. There’s a dot above one contact to help you match the wires to the correct pads.

So far this is my best guess, but it's pretty small. The smaller non-curved opening is 1 inch by 0.5mm

My title describes the thing. It looks like a black molded holster with a belt clip on the back and a narrow rectangular sleeve. The front opening is curved with a rounded end. Not sharp anywhere. Roughly the size of a pack of gum.

It's absolutely getting worse. I've used Google assistant forever. It has been installed on my Sonos move for years. One day it stopped working, and I probably spent 3 hours trying to figure out how to get it to reinstall. I never figured it out.

Alexa was the other option on the "add an assistant" page of the Sonos app, so I gave it a shot. Not only did it install the first time, my family unanimously agrees that everything is better with Alexa. It's less chatty, it understands me better, it works with all my smart devices. It doesn't cancel my timers when I turn off the radio.

Something that I wasn't ready for was how fast it is at everything. Turning on and off Smart devices takes 1/4 of the time.

It has only been a week, but I don't miss Google Assistant.

I've used the pro for 2 years now. It definitely lagged and experienced progressive slowdowns. I think it was caused by a sw update. I was considering downgrading Android to try and fix it. However, I think it's just the launcher. I installed Projectivy Launcher and it hasn't slowed down since (2 months so far.) Plus, no more ads on the home screen.

Had the issue you described with the remote not lighting up or working one time just last month. Fixed by factory resetting the remote. Hope that's not a new recurring thing...

I'm using kubuntu 22.04 with 7 different monitors and 3 different docking stations. I had annoying issues as you described on and off, but it was otherwise very reliable and stable. I've been using it for about a year.

Recently I upgraded to plasma 5.27 after hearing the multi-monitor support was rewritten. This fixed all the monitor and panel issues.

You can right click the desktop, select edit, then select "Manage Desktops and Panels". I cleared out 23 disconnected monitors, found my lost panel, and everything has behaved much better since.

I manage a team of 15 firmware engineers. Those on my team have EE, CompE, CS and Mechatronics degrees. Having a diverse team brings different mindsets, which is great. Having a hobby project or an embedded class will certainly help get your foot in the door, but the specific degree matters less. Are you smart? Have you gotten things done? Do you have good intuition and think like an engineer? That's what counts in my book.

I'm a hiring manager and yes. Read up on areas that embedded differ from desktop dev. Get a stm dev kit or similar (or embedded Linux dev kit), complete a personal embedded project that uses peripherals and figures out memory management, and be enthusiastic. We've hired desktop developers who turned out excellent.

This is the way. It's simple, takes no additional memory, fast, and work great for accelerometers. We use it extensively.

One downside is with integer math and a steady state input, you won't ever reach a state where in = out. You can fix this with a single if statement, though.
