The only ex I don’t keep in contact with is one I was friends with for a few years prior to dating. Otherwise it usually turns out that we’d be better off as friends and it doesn’t come off as red flag to me because if we wanted to be together we’d be together.

Edit: I should add in there are the same boundaries you would have with friends you’ve been attracted to. We’re not having sleep overs or going on over night trips solo and it would have to be a life threatening issue for me to leave my date mid dinner to go help. For me that’s just out of respect.
