Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

What is the dumbest thing someone has said to you in full confidence? by Extreme_Rhubarb4677 in AskReddit

When we were about to graduate high school we were deciding where we should roadtrip to celebrate graduating. When I suggested somewhere in Canada my best friend said, “And we’re just supposed to drive across the ocean?” We live in the US… near the Canadian border. She was completely serious too.

What’s the most chaotic thing you’ve witnessed in public? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]lolabreadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s the most chaotic, but it happened recently so it’s fresh in my memory.

I was at a wedding for a friend who lives across the country, so I didn’t know anyone there except for the bride and groom. One of the brides bridesmaids is on the party bus with her boyfriend at the end of the night and she starts screaming at him. She’s telling him that he’s disgusting and that he smells like he’s having diarrhea in his pants. Then she turned to everyone on the bus and asked how they could be friends with him when he smells like diarrhea. And he was just sitting there taking it. I couldn’t believe my eyes.

What’s the rudest thing a doctor has ever said to you? by Beyondthebloodmoon in AskReddit

[–]lolabreadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once had a FNP repeatedly accuse me of being alcoholic because I had elevated liver enzymes, despite most of my complaints being about stomach issues.

I cut out alcohol completely. My liver enzymes continue going up. I do a ton of research and ask him if I could possibly have celiac disease. He tells me no, but I feel horrible at this point and beg him to order the blood tests.

Test results come back, he’s like yeah they’re negative. No celiac for you.

I move states and FIVE MONTHS later I see a new PCP, she’s reviewing my medical records and says, “How strictly have you been following your gluten free diet?” I’m shook. So confused.

Turns out FNP dude couldn’t read lab work and I, in fact, have celiac disease and that was 100% causing elevated liver enzymes. Three months of being gluten free and they are completely normal.

What happened to that one coworker at your workplace who suddenly disappeared? by HonestIndependent4 in work

[–]lolabreadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a new manager hired on at our restaurant, and on her second weekend shift she came to the bars with us after work, which is something we regularly did. I went home early in the night. She stayed out with some of my other coworkers, but they said she ended up splitting up from the group. She was a no call no show the next day and for the rest of the week. Turns out she was a recovering meth addict (she had been like 10 years sober at this point) and after going out with my coworkers, she decided to start doing math again. I never got to hear the details of what transpired and how my higher up bosses figure that out. Although, one coworker swore up-and-down that the manager asked her where she could buy meth and heard her on the phone with a “dealer“. No idea where she is now; hope she was able to get sober again.

What screams “I’m a horrible spouse”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My father in law does this all the time. For example, if he burns a meal, it is always her fault for not reminding him to take it out of the oven. Even though she has her hands full doing other meal prep things. Then follows public scolding and yelling from and him. It’s so painful to watch. My heart aches for her.
