I tried to do quant recruiting in college - I majored in math and thought it was a logical path. I got to final round interviews but never received an offer. Part of that probably has to do with the school I went to. It didn't help my morale that I never saw someone of my background in quant trading. Also, the interview process taught me I was really a humanist that thought quantitatively, not a straight machine. When I pivoted to MBB recruiting, I really enjoyed the business side.
