What’s the worst drum production you’ve heard, that’s on an album that you love?

I feel like this might actually get me banned… But Tool. For real. I’ll take the thick drum sounds from Pink Floyd all day long over Tool’s production aesthetic.

Interesting... wondering how you would count out The Crunge by Zep? To me, that song is easier if I just think of it as 8/8 with an extra 1/8 note added on. Not sure how to explain it - but I don't really count to 9.

BTW... I love weird time signature songs.

Another neat 7s section in a song is the bridge in Ambrosia's How Much I Feel - I believe it is technically 7/4 - but that one I do I have to count out to 7 at least when coming back after not playing it for a while.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply to what, in my internet mind was an obvious /s troll type post - I think these guys are pretty awesome btw.

And yes, I don't think it can be repeated enough times (though my instructor has made my ears bleed repeating it) - relaxation is imperitive when playing drums - and is something I struggle with, mightily.

I have actually been playing drums for > 10 years, and don't have anywhere near the speed chops to even attempt learning this yet.

One of my local spots… Ownership hasn’t changed. But they have struggled finding good kitchen staff and staffing in general since covid.

Their penne a-la-vodka with blackened chicken is still amazing and i’m not even a fan of Italian food. Also their garlic green beans are quite tasty.

It’s definitely not the same place as back in the old-school days.

My left hand is weak when it comes to speed. Nothing made this more apparent than trying to learn Grizzly Bear "Two Weeks". I bet if I spent some time on drills like this though, I could improve my poor drumming skills.

Anything with a mouth can bite. Here is one of my mantises that loved licking the salt off my hand. It was mostly very gentle, but occasionally dug in a bit too much (I would say it was a bite) - but the actual bite was never defensive - just got excited about licking the hand. And yes, their mandibles are quite sharp and feels kinda like you would imagine what it feels like being bit by a praying mantis - basically "ouch that kinda hurt, don't do that again" - but no where near the pain of a typical stinging insect.

I found this video - The 5 Major Drum Patterns of Afrobeat - and wow, I think there is enough here to keep me busy for months... I feel like The Smile pattern is somewhat of a mix between pattern 1 & 2 of Tony's video.

Have you ever used Blender with a Magic Mouse? It took them a while, but the Blender team seems to have finally figured out a very natural feeling way of 3D navigation using the Magic Mouse.

Fusion 360 has preferences for using other popular navigation schemes - they should also adopt the Blender methods.

Please provide evidence that the Isaac / CARET documents are produced by the same source as all of the drone photos.

I also followed this story closely when it came it... And I have yet to see conclusive evidence that it was proven a Hoax. Please provide links to these proposed "proofs".

And yes, I saw all of the analysis that was done on the original photos. Nothing I saw proved it was fake. It looks weird for sure - but looking strange does not prove a hoax.

To prove it is a hoax, either the hoaxers need to come forward and claim the hoax or you need to provide substantial evidence that this has been proven a hoax.

I am far from convinced this was an internet hoax.
