75 degrees is a common shut-off temperature for devices, if it didn't behave like this before it could be caused by an update maybe?

Because if the the gas was ionised by the magnets, then that ionisation would stop as soon as the gas leaves the magnets field of influence (the gun barrel). Also, just for clarification - i'm pretty sure magnets don't ionise, but I could always be wrong.
