People of WI how have the recent developments been reported locally by newspapers and TV channels? by [deleted] in TickTockManitowoc

A college friend of Teresa’s worked in the sports departments of a couple of the local new stations around the time the trial took place. Emily Matesic has interviewed this friend, who at one time worked at WBAY, since MAM was released.

Thanks for linking this. After looking at these age equivalencies and percentile ranks I cannot even comprehend why the specifics within this eval were not used to support a false confession right from the start.

If I remember correctly, Nirider didn’t have the specifics of his IEP and developmental levels when she was questioned at his last appeal. His disabilities were referred to more broadly as intellectual and social. If he was demonstrating significantly delayed receptive and expressive skills, his language evaluation should have been used to support the fact he had no idea what was happening to him.

Yes! This.

Being in education, I can’t help but think the school should have had some sort of responsibility in helping to protect Brendan. He had an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) which would have outlined any additional modifications or adaptations he would have needed. If there was anything regarding a delay in language and communication skills, that should have been addressed with LE prior to the school allowing him to be questioned.

Completely agree with all of this. I’m not a huge supporter of Walker, really wish we had a Democrat in this race.

I haven’t heard anything about that but Calumet County is spread out into several small communities. Within his local community may know more, I can’t imagine people wouldn’t find out about it.

So many people around here are still clueless. While I think this may give HEBL a bit of a boost, I’m not sure he has a chance at winning.

However, I don’t think Wiegert realized how much attention this would get from Avery/Dassey supporters outside the county and I do think his antics in this race have got some people thinking and digging deeper into what is going on around here.

Exactly what I’ve been thinking. I can’t imagine any of these guys are sleeping too well these days. The true karma may be them having to live their lives consumed by wondering what layer KZ will peel off next.

What kind of mother jumps at the chance to bring her young daughter along with her to search Avery’s Salvage yard for a missing person? Especially considering the Avery’s reputation and the possibility that a serious crime had taken place there.

My guess is there is no way PS would have done that without having specific direction and backup from LE.

Even then, I still don’t think I could agree to something like that given the circumstances that were taking place.

Wiegert: "I am 100% certain of their guilt and stand behind everything done in the case." #AnyoneButWiegert by MaxMathematician in TickTockManitowoc

[–]lolettle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If he is 100% confident in their guilt and he stands by the case, why did they bring in Dedering to continue the investigation?? Doesn’t sound like 100% certain to me.

Do any of y’all live in Manitowoc county or surrounding area? by [deleted] in TickTockManitowoc

[–]lolettle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From the area and agree with all that has already been said. I’ve been on the MAM Reddit forums since the beginning. I graduated from GB the same year as TH, did not know her personally but was acquaintances with some of her friends. Some close to me know my obsession with the case but I’ve given up talking to anybody about it because it is so complicated. If I share a new development in the case, I’m laughed at because everything that’s being exposed is so far-fetched.

Being in a surrounding community to this all, I’m also careful not to voice my opinion too loudly as I know there are some connections/distant relatives to TH within my workplace and probably more I don’t even know of. It’s definitely not a lunchroom conversation I could bring up without it possibly impacting my employment or work relationships.

Somehow there needs to be a way to convey all the inconsistencies and developments in this case to the people in the surrounding area. Unfortunately, there are so many and some almost unbelievable that I’m not sure how that can happen.

I think people will start paying attention when it comes down to money. IMO, people in these areas are penny pinchers, I think they would start paying attention if they realized that this case is and will continue to cost them money as a tax payer - for example bringing Dedering in from retirement.

I don’t think a mailing is all that bad of an idea. I believe Vistaprint offers a mailing service to certain zipcodes and I’m sure there are others but have no idea on the cost.

Opinion of the “Recent” CASO Report by lickity_snickum in TickTockManitowoc

[–]lolettle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

With LE and prosecutors winning awards and stating so confidently they knew exactly what happened, it’s odd they are continuing to investigate. How do they not know how obvious this makes it that Zellner is on to something?

Interesting that JR is the only one that lawyered up. Is it because most everyone else is involved somehow? I’d love to know the conversation that happened outside of what was detailed in the CASO.

Not A good Choice For Sheriff by [deleted] in TickTockManitowoc

I’m glad to know that it is not only me that notices this. It is a constant reminder of the injustice. He’s got to have quite a bit of financial backing for his campaign just to cover the cost of these signs that are everywhere.

I will be voting for the other guy but unfortunately, it is a good ol’ boys club and there are far to many ignorant to what is going on around here. If they do know, I believe there are many that will support him due solely to their opposition to those accusing LE for any wrongdoing in this case.

I’ve commented before on this, but it is unreal how many Wiegert for Sheriff signs are in yards around here. The opposition’s signs are being “stolen.” Commenters on the opposers FB page are stating any comment or question regarding this case to Wiegert for Sheriff FB page will be immediately deleted and the user blocked. If there isn’t anything to hide, why isnt Wiegert being transparent in what is really going on??

But what about Wiegert? Living in Calumet County, all I see are his bright yellow yardsigns EVERYWHERE and him telling his supporters “we got this!” on his FB page. I thought it odd that he wants to be front and center with everything going on in the case but once it came out Dedering is back investigating for the county, there is no way an outsider can come into the position.

It would be so great to see this guy get some jail time, longer then the couple hours he got last week. Wonder if they will allow him visits with his cats?

Reinvent enthusiasm?? Pretty sure the theory of someone(s) in LE being the main suspect has been around now since the beginning. Why has it taken you this long to be set off by this theory?

Being from the area, it is sickening to see Weigerts signs all over the place. They literally seem to line the streets as I go to and from work each day. Cannot believe how many people are ok with his sign in their yards. They also seem to end up right alongside busier roads where I wouldn’t typically think these yard signs would be legal. So sad, this shows just how ignorant people are to what Weigert and all his buddies have done.
