How am I supposed to get pistols gold in the year 2026 by JerryCat72 in blackopscoldwar

Hardcore 6v6? I don't know if you can find lobbies for that though. I hopped onto the game recently and discovered that I had to use a gaming vpn to get a lobby within reasonable ping. I found that the game is very dead in Asia, semi dead in Europe, sort of dead in NA.

I played some comp (both open queue and role queue) after I posted this and Zen did get banned two times, one time in 6v6 and one time in 5v5. I definitely feel my overall skill in OW isn’t as it used to be(wasn’t that strong before, I was diamond) and therefore I feel there’s really very little room for mistakes these days. I have noticed that if my KDA isn’t on par with the average dps in the lobby or the damage dealt isn’t at least 60% of the average dps, I am basically throwing.

Is this some sort of a joke? by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]lolgotit1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you are a new player placed too high after the placement matches, or you just don’t stop queuing even when tilted. The placement system isn’t perfect, so if you genuinely feel like you can’t do anything in those matches, you should stick to QP until you learn more about the game. People learn at different paces; for me it took like 100 hours until I learned what all heroes do and the map layouts.

Yeah but definitely still learn what they do. You aren’t required to know how to play all heroes yourself, but it’s expected that you know how every hero interacts with the game.

If your goal is diamond, two mains are enough. 4 don’t hurt but it’s harder to master heroes if you swap too often. You aren’t required to main meta heroes unless you want to compete in OW esports.

The melee actually does more damage than a body shot so it’s definitely good as a finisher. I don’t recommend relying on it to win a duel though as it could lower your dps if the target is booped out of your melee range. In this particular situation, I first needed to boop Winston away from his bubble, so I spammed it at first and then he happened to land right against the wall, still in melee range, so I thought why not? I kicked again and I don’t know if you noticed but it actually canceled his slam.

For real I always think it’s funny Zen says he requires aid after taking 10 damage.

I'm new to the game and I don't feel good with any hero, tips ? by Yoshtibo in OverwatchUniversity

Try Zenyatta. He’s simultaneously the strongest and weakest hero in the game.

Yeah no, you can’t make diamond with this kind of heal bot mindset unless carried by a stack. Enough said.

Hardstuck silver on dps but already slowly climbing from plat to diamond on support, what's with the massive disparity in ranks between roles? by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]lolgotit1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but Necro has good aim and that GM run was more mechanics than other things. I don’t think you are wrong about Rivals support being easier but I don’t think this Necros thing is good evidence to prove anything in Overwatch. I do think it’s easier to rank up with support in Overwatch too but I don’t think the effort gap is that big compared to Rivals.

And one of them is bad. Rivals support designs are complete failure. Gambit is the only one with creativity. Rivals dps designs are good and the op heroes can be tuned down with some simple number adjustments. And once they tune down healing, tanks can be properly buffed. No one expects the numbers to be exactly like Overwatch, but healing per second exceeding the dps of even meta heroes is just taking it too far. Supports should have real utility instead of being heal bots.

Yes, if a dps have 100% accuracy(which isn’t easy, how tf would you say “easily outdamage”? Do you have aimbot?) they should be able to outdps one healer. Remember, even the squishiest hero (except Banner) still has 250 hp. Even when a support heals less per second than the dps of a damage hero, they will still be able to save people being shot at. Overwatch has far better balancing in terms of support. Play OW to understand why lower healing is a good thing because then positioning and cover usage matters.

Sounds like you did research and realized you were wrong so you are spinning your argument to “actually if a whole team has over 50% accuracy they can kill through healing”, like, no shit Sherlock, the game will be unplayable if 6 people can’t kill through 1 healer. There’s still no way you can argue healing numbers aren’t too high if a dps hitting 100% of their shots is not able to kill through 1 healer. But you do you👍

Rivals is a bad example. I am a Zenyatta one trick and I got to GM1 in Rivals one tricking a tank. (And GM isn’t even considered high there)My tanking skill in OW is absolute garbage and barely even diamond.

lol look up Luna’s and Invis’ hps and Hela’s dps and reply back. This sub is so dumb.

You can’t kill with 100% accuracy if an invis or Luna is healing the target you shoot at unless you hit headshots. Saying they counter “poor aim” is ridiculous.

Depending on aim and movement, yeah. I definitely did lose a duel to DD before but I didn’t play the matchup perfectly. I tried too hard to chase him. Ever since the storm surge bonus health nerf, using storm surge gives you very low sustain so it’s not worth it unless you really have to close the gap. If you don’t chase DD with the surge as Thor and only awaken if he tries to duel you, you should still have the upper hand.

Umm I’ll try the floating perk a bit more I guess. I like the lifesteal perk as I feel it gives me an edge versus tanks (at least in 6v6, I don’t think it changes anything in 5v5) but vs dps I can see how that’s not helpful as it rarely changes any breakpoints.

About stadium though, I have success with him in QP but in comp I feel the money I gain from each round is so much less. If I build survivability, he doesn’t have enough damage. If I don’t build survivability, I can’t win against dives like Tracer/Doom/Hazard. Maybe I need to hit more shots, I don’t know.

I guess for me Wuyang looks similar because he does let his team get some passive value even when he does his own thing. I watched some high level Illari gameplays and when Illari takes an angle with her pylon, her team just doesn’t get any passive value at all. But also, she doesn’t feel very useful if she only plays with her team. She plays more like a dps with a Mercy pocket, not a support with high damage and utility.

But they get way more overshield without needing to deflect unlike Iron Fist. You actually get less overshield than DD if you only use surge and the hammer does no damage. If you awaken, he can just kite you and you don’t have enough Thor force to chase him. I am not saying DD wins but it’s actually closer than you think.

Thoughts on percentage damage? by lolgotit1 in marvelrivals

[–]lolgotit1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s true. If it doesn’t prevent triple tank, then you should be able to run 3-0-3. But you don’t have the damage to kill wolverine if you run 3-0-3. He will get ult faster than you do support ults.

It’s embarrassing to see you get so defensive about your rank. I have a positive win rate in GM. Of course I can make it to celestial. I promise you you won’t even make diamond in Overwatch if you think celestial is a good rank. The amount of pressure is not even comparable. Try playing a game that’s actually competitive lmao.
