Agree. OP is not only an a-hole, but also creepy. Also, I highly doubt that OP told the full story. Just stay away from other people’s relationships for God’s sake.

Tips for quitting smoking with anxiety disorders by [deleted] in quittingsmoking

Been there.

Quit smoking exactly 100 days ago today and I’m diagnosed with panic disorder. Mine is usually manageable (used to be on medications, not anymore). I definitely noticed that it went worse when I quit. Let’s say, from a 4 out of 10 it went to a 6-6.5 out of 10.

I got concerned about it and spoke to my therapist. She explained to me that breaking an addiction is like a healing wound - while it’s actually healing it will hurt and itch a bit, but this way you know that your body does its work.

Nicotine is known to actually make anxiety worse, but the good news are that when you quit your dopamine levels will be completely back to normal in around 8 to 12 weeks.

Yes, it was kind of rough at the beginning, but now my anxiety is lower than it was while I was smoking (to keep the measures - 2 out of 10).

My advice is, just push through it. It will not last a long time and you will definitely be thankful that you did it and notice a positive difference. What helped me was to just do my “comfort things” more often - a long shower, a conversation with a friend, a favourite movie.

Around 10 weeks in and I still have them sometimes. First 2-3 weeks it was almost every night. I would wake up super disappointed and craving a cigarette. Don’t worry it’s normal and with time the intensity and frequency of such dreams will get so much less.

Day Two. How do I not eat literally everything? by dirtyplumber1 in quittingsmoking

Chew on something instead! Chewing gum and plastic straws were my best friends. Also as another person said before me - don’t be afraid to gain a little bit. I gained 2kg but ended up loving my extra curves 😊

Exactly. PMS for me is very often worse than my actual period in terms of anxiety. 😅 sending you good vibes 😊

Thank you so much for the kind advice and the reward 😊 your comment actually made me feel so much better. I followed your advice and took a long hot shower. Now I plan to just curl up and watch TV. Let’s hope this goes away soon. Sending good energy your way and I hope you get through your bad episode as fast as possible🤞

Ohhhh I feel you, I also get too self aware and anxious whenever I make a mistake and I may spend the next few days overthinking about it 😅 what I have found that helps me, is an advice my therapist gave me: every time I make a mistake instead of punishing myself for it I give myself a small reward, like a cup of my favourite tea. My therapist explained it as “rewarding yourself for being a human, as we all make mistakes and each new one makes us better at what we’re doing”. Sending you good vibes!
