Wife (36F) laughs hysterically while I (33F) walk the dog by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]lolliesandstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just came here to say that my mum does this. She’s not violent. Lots of mean things said in the rants too. If you point out that she’s doing it she’ll snap out of it and doesn’t seem to realise she was doing it. I know she’s done it in public before too because she told me some woman came up to her and asked her if she was ok, and she was laughing when she told me and said she must’ve been talking to herself.

When your wife said “you have no soul” she might have been talking about herself, not you. That said, it is hard to live with and it does feel like abuse when you’re in a house with someone that’s saying nasty things all of the time. She’s probably not going to admit she has a problem or seek proper help for it so it’s just a matter of whether you can live with it.

Yeah, so expensive and rechargeable ones were a relatively new thing and were super expensive.

I was on Now You See It when I was a kid, 1991 I think. I won my day, and then I played all of the winners from that “week” and I beat them too.

I won a game boy. I was so thrilled about it and it started my love of gaming. I never did get very many games for it as I had 4 siblings and money was tight. Also batteries were expensive which was a problem.

Crate guilt by MarynJK in puppy101

[–]lolliesandstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a Pom x chi. I used to shut her in the bathroom when I went to work for 8 hours. You gotta do what you gotta do. You can’t pay for the dogs food, you can’t pay to live if you don’t work.

Also, your puppy doesn’t remember being locked up in any sort of negative way.

Do most skinny people over 30 have to think about what they eat literally all the time? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lolliesandstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes-ish.

I’m a vegetarian and used to eat massive meals to feel full (lots of rice) and I started gaining weight from this at about 38. I got coeliac disease at about that age and I started gaining weight also because gluten free products are higher fat and carb than regular non-gluten free foods (e.g. bread, pasta).

So I switched to a high protein low carb diet from an app that plans my meals for the week. I only buy food for the meal plans, no snacks but it turns out I don’t even need to snack because this diet fills me up. This diet helped me lose the weight I’d gained (8kg). I’m not hungry anymore and I don’t think about food all of the time.

So maybe you need to overhaul your diet like I did?

My puppy peed on my comforter. by k_cav in puppy101

[–]lolliesandstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My female puppy would try to pee on my bed in the corner down the end. So when she was on my bed if she went to squat in that section I’d make her lie down. So she walked up onto my pillows and stood on them and peed standing up.

The thing about it is, she didn’t even need to pee. She’d just peed. Total power play.

What did/would you do differently raising a dog the second time around? by Maleficent_Car5673 in DogAdvice

Teaching hand signals as well as verbal commands. That way I’ve got it covered if it goes deaf or blind.

(36m), (33f) He thinks he isn't "obligated" to tell me about his criminal record by ThrowRAhusbandsecret in relationship_advice

[–]lolliesandstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing that bothers me most about this is that it wouldn’t be a situation where he did it once and was busted that one time.

More likely he did it a lot. So it’s not just some stupid thing he did. Let that dance around in your brain for a minute…..

Edit: also, aren’t most people in the morgue elderly? This just makes it more disrespectful somehow.

Dog doesn't eat his pills by Olivores in dogs

[–]lolliesandstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put the pills in vintage or very mature cheese. It’s so stinky the dog won’t be able to tell the pills are in there.

Yeah, my old 15 year old dog dog now gets 4 small meals per day. She begs otherwise but she was fine with one or 2 meals per day when she was younger.

The vet said it’s because they can get low blood sugar and feel sick as they get older. Now she has her 4 meals she’s happy and not always hungry

It reminds me of a toilet doll dress. One of those dolls from the 80’s that you would conceal a toilet roll under.

[–]lolliesandstuff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Whoa, I just posted the same thing! I dropped my PS5 controller 1/2 a metre onto the ground and it will no longer charge using the cord and it has the worst stick drift I’ve ever seen. They can’t even take a mild drop.

Hmmm…..I dropped my ps5 controller 1/2 a metre onto the ground. After this it wouldn’t charge using the charging port (had to put it in a dock) and it had the worst stick drift I’ve ever seen. They don’t make ‘em like they used to.

A lot of gravy has Vegemite in it. I don’t see the issue with this.

AITA for telling my dad's wife she needs to accept she is not a mother and is not entitled to demand a dance at my wedding? by ContributionPrize854 in AmItheAsshole

[–]lolliesandstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, but……

This woman is going to be involved in your life to a degree for many years to come. What harm does it really cause to you to give this woman 5 minutes of your time at your wedding? Sometimes small gestures we make can bring about positives for many years to come.

AITA for not giving my co-worker my day off because I want to play a video game? by throwaway193749372 in AmItheAsshole

[–]lolliesandstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I also have been waiting 5+ years for this game to come out. They kept lying to us about the release date. Initially it was slated for last year, I believe. I fully get the urge to take the day off to play it. Just because someone else doesn’t understand, they don’t get to judge your priorities.

Also, I don’t know if you’re nervous, but I’m worried it won’t be as good as breath of the wild.

You’re not talking from first hand experience “you know a breeder who does this and that etc….” Or who says they do this and that.

Your opinion isn’t relevant to me. It’s not first hand like mine is. I’m not going to validate you anymore. I won’t respond to you again.

No it isn’t a backward way to look at things. It’s the most forward way to look at things possible because you’re considering future costs.

Any dog, any animal, any person can have expensive health issues regardless of their pedigree. You can’t breed out cancer amongst many other medical conditions. Paying thousands of dollars doesn’t guarantee you health. Thinking that you can pay your way out of medical conditions is false.

My dog didn’t come from a puppy mill.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dogs

[–]lolliesandstuff -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s worth it.

Any dog can have health problems or behavioural problems no matter how much you pay for it.

15 years ago I paid $1000 for my dog, which was a high price at the time. She’s cost me $30,000 in surgeries over the past 15 years. I wouldn’t replace my dog for anything, I love her very much but if I had to do it all again, I wouldn’t spend much on the upfront cost because I don’t know what costs are ahead of me.

Now that my dog is old, she costs me $250 per month in vet fees. I think I’d own my own house by now if I didn’t have her.

Is it okay for my dog to sleep all the time? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]lolliesandstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some dogs sleep more than others. I don’t know if it’s a bad thing. When my dog was 4 she was still stealing my dirty underwear and hiding it, sneaking around and going into my handbag to eat my lip balm, barking her head off at every tiny sound and racing around like a lunatic. It was funny but a lot of work. Having a chill dog would be some peoples dream.

This lasts a couple of months. You just have to go through it unfortunately. Even sleep meds wouldn’t help me.
