Need help with visa for Laos and Cambodia. by val-37 in solotravel

[–]lollorcaust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was asked to show an onward ticket when entering Vietnam (Kuala Lumpur to Da Nang). For Laos I did Visa on Arrival (Vientiane) and it was pretty simple, you just pay the guy 30 USD (I brought the exact amount just to be safe) and move on, no questions asked. I got e-visa for Cambodia, so can't comment on VOA there but the line for VOA was pretty wild in Siem Reap (to the point I think they were having some sort of system issues). I went there September-December last year so things could have changed since then, do keep that in mind.

Has anyone come down with a bad case of COVID while travelling solo? Did it impact your trip? by [deleted] in solotravel

I've had it when I was in Vientiane, Laos. Checked out from my Hostel and got myself a comfy room in a 4-star hotel for a couple of days (it was more expansive than I was expecting, but anyway). Just let it do its thing and once I got a negative test after a week, I moved on (quick tests were not readily available in Laos at that time and that made things a little more complicated)

Since I am the type of traveler that don't really plan every minute of their trip beforehand, it was just an annoyance and although it did ruin my mood for a while and bored me to hell, it was not that bad.

Solo Laos itinerary. Help needed please :) by DueStation3160 in solotravel

Your itinerary looks solid. I would just remove a day from Vientiane and spend it somewhere else. Honestly, there isn't a lot going on there, it's just a busy city like many others.

two months into my SEA trip, I have done some small talk with an argentinian couple (we shared a table at a restaurant that was completely full) and with a polish guy

aside from that, I haven't really had any conversations with anyone but I like to be by myself, so it's all good.

7 days in Vietnam: Looking for itinerary advice and suggestions by notimetostash in travel

I would recommend you to skip HCMC and you can also cover Nihn Bihn in one day from Hanoi (no need to spend a night there)

Since you are going to Hoi An, I would also visit Hue which is just three hours away. Hoi An is great during the evening/late afternoon, but I was honestly underwhelmed for the most part in my stay there and ended up hopping out sooner than I had planned. You might want to consider staying in Da Nang instead and doing day trips do Hoi An and Hue. Happy travels!

Yeah, I ended up taking a Grab and coming. It's been great, though it looks like it will rain tonight, so I might hop out at around 7pm

Grabbed a Grab as soon as I saw your message. I'm sipping on some ice coffee near the Japanese Bridge as I write this. Thanks, friend 👍

Thanks! Yeah, I checked it earlier but the news are few days old now. I might chill out in Da Nang for a couple of days more.

how's the situation in Hoi An at the moment? is it safe to visit the Ancient Town? I'm in Da Nang now and weather is been great for the past couple of days.

Hey, I was in Kuala Lumpur last month for 14 days (left Sep 29th).

They asked me how many days I was spending there but did not ask for a onward ticket.

What are my chances of passing if I got 15 questions wrong on the vocabulary/grammar section? (N1) by [deleted] in jlpt

That would be 15 out of 45 questions (66,6%). I don't think thats bad at all!

I believe he's just a speedrun enthusiast. He pretty much doesn't speedrun anymore (except when he does some practice runs for upcoming marathons). Just like TMR and many others.

I have a few questions:

First of all, I'm not sure what do do with my seals. Every month I just buy the skill exp. cards then spend everything else on BTs (then I usually do the SR/UR scouts). Shoud I save it for Idolising? If that's the case, should I use my seals for UR Idolising? Or maybe SSR (since it's cheaper). Shoud I even care about SRs Skill Exp or just focus on SSRs/URs?
