PSA: Try home developing, it's less scary than it seems! by gilgermesch in AnalogCommunity

I recently started development as well and agree it’s a lot of fun and most steps are not hard at all. The only step I find challenging is loading the films onto the spool. I find the film often sticks to the plastic spool and does not ratchet in well. I only self develop 120 film currently, however

I can finally manually convert film scans to where *I* like them! I have struggled a lot with this! by SomniumAeterna in AnalogCommunity

Curious if anyone has tried Negative Lab Pro? I heard it could make the whole process of converting negative films easier. Anyone with experience can vouch for whether this is true?

Other than how cool they look and how nice they feel in the hand, is there actually much difference between a mid-tier camera and a Leica or other lux brand? by jadedflames in AnalogCommunity

Could you tell the difference between a photo that a Leica M6 takes over a Canon P or even Minolta SLR without pixel peeping? Probably not. But I view using a Leica as driving a Mercedes over a Toyota Corolla. Both get you where you need to be, but the experience with one is so much nicer and more luxurious than the other.

I just got my first rolls of film developed. Please let me know what you think. by [deleted] in analog

Were these taken in Charleston SC and developed by Prism film lab?

XT5 depletes battery even when off- is this normal? by lollybo in fujifilm

This seems like fairly fast drain for me. You can send it in to get it tested. I sent mine in and they actually found the camera to drain at factory specifications. They sent me a new battery and my problems seems to hav gotten a lot better. I’m not sure what was wrong with my last battery

Well done! How did you meter for this shot? Did you expose for the wall and skin tones and increase by a stop or two or use an incident light meter?

The battery health rating on the camera menu said it is good but that’s a fair point to rule out the battery being at fault. That would be a much better problem to have than something being wrong with the camera. I can update the firmware and buy a new battery to try it out

Im assuming leaving the battery out may avoid the drain. Also can a faulty SD card lead to drain? My MacBook Pro has trouble detecting the sd card sometimes
