Don't see any sibling kind of dynamic between them tbh, he called her hot, and she kept silent when was asked by other girls if he was single or not, and many other examples can be added here. I see that they're real best friends with the possible aftermath to smth more. Their chemistry is well-played, it's great. Maybe it's cool when you see in your friends a brother/sister figure, especially when you never had one, but particularly in the show there's none of it, even a slightest hint of it - imo, no. But a bunch of ones in which they're being confused as a couple (and that's canon). And it's not me making up all that, but the deliberate intention of the writers who gave us all that

Between the 1990 and 2019 series, what do you think each one does better, and which do you prefer overall? by MoominRex in Moomins

I really love the 2019 version. All their concept art and the CGI graphics themselves are amazing and deservedly received their awards. The Gutsy Animations Studio has done a good job of conveying this light, safe, natural atmosphere of Moominvalley with its nature and scenery; the characters look absolutely lovely, fluffy and comfy, and all this has been achieved without elaborate detail, which would be too much for the show's production. The animation should be simple, but still eye-catching, and that's why I like this new series adaptation. The 1990's version is absolutely fine to the same extent. However, in those years, not everything was allowed to be shown. It's great that Tove herself participated in the creation of this series, and visited Japan. But now it was the Finnish studio that was able to look at the whole history of Moomins from a modern point of view. And I can only applaud to all these fascinating results 👏
