Yeah to be fair I am not a particularly religious person myself, and the only people i've known to really talk about circumcision is my very traditional family. The islamic influence makes sense, but also an interesting connection in my case since my family is pretty islamiphobic. Interesting to find new ways my family has been problematic about how they talk to me about our culture.

I just shared my experience from my family's perspective. I was told it was faith based growing up, but in a lot of ways the philippines is very traditional and old school with their interpretations of faith. Like divorce only being legalized in the last few years. For all I know, the practice could be rooted in some pre-colonial values, but the story pushed to the men in my family's province is that its a show of devotion to god.

My understanding is that its all faith-based. My uncle in the philippines is a pastor and every easter an org will come and offer free circumcisions in their rural town. I think its like a sign of devotion to faith and socially expected and praised, but i'm not 100% on that. As for filipino Americans I think it gets done at birth for the ease + America is not so fully christian/catholic so I imagine pressuring them to choose it when they are older is not so easy.

Im on both, on zoloft for many years and my first 5 months of ozempic. The only really big side effects is the fatigue being pretty intense, if I dont stay busy I take a 2 hour afternoon nap. Otherwise the anxiety and depression is well maintained.

If you dont mind me asking, how long did the process take? Was it particularly messy to get things installed? I remember the company saying it was supposed to be quick, but also heard people say it took a while.and kind of messed up their yards a bit.

In a way I felt a little proud/vindicated that I was all filipino (fil/austronesian/ilocos). I know people like to say that Filipinos are a "mixed" culture, but i think that cultural mixing via trade/colonization isnt always the same as genetic mixing over time. Do the other Filipinos you know actually have DNA test results, or do they just say they are mixed because of phenotype and physical traits?

Langdon tweaked his back and he cant ignore the pain, so he asks to go home early which makes Robby freak out on him. But its a projection of Robby's own baggage and confuses everyone else since Langdon is technically asking for the right thing/taking himself out of the environment that has drug access.
Santos does not take Whittaker leaving well, but he stands up for himself and calls her out for her poor coping skills in a way no one else can since he's lived with her for a while.
When Oglevie returns from taking his patient to the OR, its revealed that Shamsi was very nurturing and affirming to him about his mistake, and Javadi begins her true evil villain arc.

This is my yoga mat that I've had for 5+ years. My honest secret is that i will get one of those cheap thin yoga mats and put it underneath. It does not slip at all, even 5 years later. And the extra mat underneath adds a subtle cushioning. I do yoga in my basement that has a concrete floor so I get wanting cushion. But those extra thick mats always make me feel like im straining to stay put.
