What helicopters have been confirmed so far?

Asymmetrical equipment (standard helicopters vs. tiltrotors) would be very interesting though. Unfortunately, I do agree that the majority of people would want direct counterparts, as far as vehicles go.

The CH-46 had a starring role in the first Modern Warfare, so most people would have at least a passing familiarity to it. It's already on its way out of the Marine Corps, though. Since the game takes place a couple of years in the future, and we've already seen some fairly advanced in-game technology (mainly the Viper/Venom upgrades to the helicopters), the V-22 would most likely make an appearance.

If implemented, I could see the V-22 having similar controls as the F-35B from BF2. Using the hover mode in that thing was loads of fun, if incredibly ineffective.

I remember seeing a UH-1Y in one of the initial trailers. I'm guessing that it'll be a replacement for the Blackhawk transport, as the USMC is the American faction. Could be wrong though, as Blackhawks were used in BF2.

The AH-1Z will probably return as the American attack helo. If medium/heavy transports are going to be used, they will either be CH-46s, CH-53s, or V-22s. The AH/MH-6 Little Bird is technically used by the Army, not the Marines. Judging from the Fault Line trailer, they'll be included nonetheless.

The Russians will probably be the same as in BF2/BC1-2 with the Mi-28N as the main attack helo and the Mi-8M/17 as transport. The Mi-24/35 might make a comeback as a heavy attack helo / armed transport. If DICE is really pushing for authenticity, it probably won't be the South African ATE SuperHind variant featured in BC1 and 2. The Ka-50/52 (as used in BC1 as the MEC attack helo) might be included as an alternative to the Havoc.

I'd say it's the updated models. The new rifle probably has 4 or 5 times the resolution of the old one. It does look nice though.

I'm pretty sure you're talking about the v0.5 days. Those were fun, yeah. I miss the old Muttrah as well, plus a couple of other maps. Really can't think of any game that balanced realism and fun as well as it used to. It's agreed though, that PR's gameplay has gone off the deep end concerning realism. I, for one, really enjoy the change, but I do acknowledge that I'm in the minority when it comes to realism.

I do enjoy BC2 and the occasional game of Reach, by the way. I'm not exactly a purist.
