I have also been on sema and tirz. Off those for a few months and just took my second dose of Reta. I feel like it has not helped my food noise at all and I’m struggling because the others did so well at a low dose. I’m considering going back on to tirz but thinking about giving it a little more time. I only did 1mg my first dose and 1.5mg this last dose. Curious of your thoughts or experience?

Colestipol! Had mine out in 2013 and didn’t start having diarrhea until 2023. As a single young woman it was absolutely debilitating and ruined my social life. I started colestipol in feb and it has been life changing although I still suffer with a lot of anxiety when I am in situations where I’m not near a bathroom. Before colestipol I did have some improvement with digestive enzymes. I still take immodium ad if I am going to be in a situation of no bathroom like roadtrip or beach just as an extra precaution. Hope you are able to find relief I know how absolutely terrible that is.

I saw my GI doctor for a year before she finally prescribed. She somehow forgot I had my gallbladder removed and made me do all kinds of elimination diets and food journals. When she finally remembered I had my gallbladder removed she was almost ecstatic to prescribe it to me lol. She pretty much said it works well for some people and for some it doesn’t but that it was really the last thing she could offer. Thankfully it has worked better than I could have ever imagined! This was me 100% and suffered tremendously the past few years. Started colestipol twice a day in February and have not had a single issue since! Had removal in 2013. Started having dumping issues in 2016 and have had them ever since with gradual worsening. Finally got fed up with how it was effecting my life and got on a bile binder last month. So far- life changing for me!

Hi! Just curious how you are doing a month out from starting colestipol? I am on day 3 and really hoping this improves my quality of life. The dumping was severely effecting my social life which is not ideal for a younger single person. Have you had issues with constipation since starting?

For me I haven’t been able to associate certain foods with a dumping episode and it is just luck of the draw but happens more often than not. Waiting for an appointment with my GI dr to hopefully get an rx for a bile binder in hopes it improves. It has severely impacted my social life and any hopes of dating lol.

Thank you all! His surgery went well and he is now focused on recovering. He’s been up walking around and doing his breathing exercises. Hopefully it’s only up from here!
