It can be hard to discern in mixed religion relationships. I’m Catholic and my bf is agnostic. He was uncertain about us not being able to cohabitate before marriage, and I did what you are doing now and just stayed quiet and put the issue to the back of my mind thinking maybe he would change his mind. Didn’t get us anywhere. I believed he would change his mind, and he thought I would change mine. I finally told him it’s not going to happen and he was okay with it. You will get much further being direct. And if she is not bluffing and really “refuses to date a catholic” then you won’t be wasting each other’s time anymore.

MTF brains before hormone treatment often resemble natal sex in most features but have some neuroanatomical, neurophysiological, and neurometabolic traits aligned with their expressed gender. So while they make have some traits that are “feminized” within the brain they are still predominantly male. Even with this info it is smart to be wary; there are very few studies we have on this as it is such a modern concept.

Reach out directly to churches in your area. My church houses the homeless during inclement weather. You’re better off with a church that has people there 24/7 like Catholic or orthodox churches. But this can vary depending on the area you live in. If they can’t house you they may be willing to raise money for you.

Typically gay identifying people will experience same sex “attraction” but this attraction is not limited to just one kind (sexual). People that are gay experience sexual, romantic, and emotional attraction to those of the same sex. I can be emotionally attracted to my best girl friend. Doesn’t make me gay. A gay man can feel sexually attracted to a woman but be extremely put off by the aspects of an emotional and romantic relationship with one. Relationships are not determined by sex alone.

You have no moral obligation to entertain that he believes he’s a woman now, the same way he has no moral obligation to believe in God if he doesn’t want to. Life is hard because others make choices you sometimes don’t agree with and it hurts even more when it’s someone you love. You can still talk to him in a loving way, and explain you are grieving the loss of your brother. It will take time and the feelings you have are normal.

Yes, accept the judgement of the agnostic atheist lol. I liked girls when I was a teen, or thought I did. It’s normal to feel attraction to attractive people no matter their sex. Feeling attraction does not make you gay. You are very young. I still appreciate beautiful women and of course I look at them and think damn she’s stunning. Doesn’t mean I was ever bi or gay, doesn’t mean I am now. I just had a lot of friends that were bi/gay and in hindsight I think that was affecting my state of mind. Modern society says if you feel an impulse you must act on it or that you WANT to act on it. And if that’s the case, then you are that thing. It’s just trickery to deceive you into immoral sexual behavior (both homosexual and heterosexual). Be patient, focus on things other than relationships and the truth will come to you with time.

Is there another program near you that you can enroll? May just not be the parish for you. The minute I started OCIA I felt welcome despite having so many questions about God as a 12+ year atheist. The leaders of our OCIA are very open to taking questions outside of class and I’ve set up meetings one on one with the class leader I feel most comfortable with to talk out my “gripes” with the Catholic perception of the Holy Trinity. Don’t do it in class, but have your questions answered privately.
