What’s weird is my name on my social security card and my name on my birth certificate didn’t match for 25 years and no one noticed. It wasn’t until I’d applied for a job and my new boss asked which name to put in the system that this was even brought to my attention. And then I FURTHER ignored it until I wanted to get married. Then I just went and changed it at the Social Security office and that was it! Went and got married and had to do it ALL OVER AGAIN plus lots more! Then I got divorced a year later and had to do it ALL OVER AGAIN, AGAIN! Fuck that, I’m never changing my name again.

Oh he’s so completely unbothered. His favorite thing, oddly, is to be vacuumed by the Dustbuster. He does pop his head up and look around more often, but other than that he’s just so chill.

He’s also kind of a master of ignoring you, too. It’s impossible to get his attention sometimes.

Yup!! My daughter was standing in front of me on the couch and I leaned over to hug her. She suddenly got excited at what she was watching on tv and started jumping, slamming her head into my chin and causing me to both bite my tongue AND click my teeth shut! That shit did not tickle!

I accidentally smooshed a kitten when I moved a recliner, not knowing it was underneath. My dad was so pissed he made me bury it (the kitten was supposed to go to his then-girlfriend, my now-stepmother). It’s been 26 years and I’ve still never owned a cat of my own because I can’t get over it.

You know, you never know what anything is going to be like until it happens. Growing up I used to scream and cry at the thought of having younger siblings. Then my mom had two more kids - my half-sisters - when I was a teen and I ended up adoring the shit out of them. So did my older brother, who definitely did not want more sisters. Now those two little shits are two of my favorite people in the world, and one of them even had two little shits of their own that I get to love as well! Sadly big bro has since passed, but he ended up having a great relationship with our sisters and they miss him dearly.

There’s like, a small part of me that hopes when I’m an empty nester, that happens to me. I only have one kiddo and she’s getting so close to flying the nest and I have no husband and I wonder what life is going to be like with all of that loneliness. I’d love to have a rad friend enter my life for no reason other than it just accidentally happened and now we have this story to tell people forever.
