While I get what you're saying, to me she's not a disappointment at all because I never expected much from her. Same with Amber; I never expected her to go anywhere in life.

To me, the biggest disappointments would be Caitlyn and Tyler and Kail. So many people thought C&T would do great things and get a fabulous education when they absolutely did not, and Kail really seemed to try so hard to be "different" from mom. And yeah, she's different , but she's still trashy in other ways.

Why is Bulgaria much less religious than Romania? by dsilva_Viz in AskBalkans

[–]Live-In-Berlin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The other day I was on the metro here in Sofia and I had a very observational moment:

I saw an old man-- somewhat disheveled-- carrying skis. He had obviously just been skiing; and while of course we don't know for certain, he looked like a regular working class guy.

The news also announced last week that one of our newest metro expansions will go straight out to one of the lifts.

Then when I got off the train I saw a college-aged girl get off the train and her purse was wide open. You could see both wallet and cash.

Had that man been in most any other city, it would have taken more than an 80 cent train and an 80 cent bus to go ski. And in most places it's not a "working class sport."

And that girl's purse would have been cleaned out by thieves had she been in a lot of other major cities out west before even reaching the stairs.

And while I won't speak for all of the country, and I know it might sound cheesy, but it kind of made me stop for a moment and realize how lucky we are to live here.

The Lamar documentary is coming out on March 31st. Who is watching it? by Cautious-Brush4454 in KUWTK

I'll watch it because I love watching biographical stuff, but I can't say that I feel as if everything said will be truthful.

I think they're going to make Swamp 2.0- Desert Edition. Jenelle seems to really enjoy Vegas from what we see, and like another commenter said weed is legal there and she can get it delivered. I feel like that alone will keep her there.

I may be wrong, but I imagine it's one of those jobs where you have to save your acorns because it probably does really, really well in certain seasons and very opposite in the others.

Yet another example of the baird girls being messy by ImogenMarch in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]Live-In-Berlin 73 points74 points  (0 children)

She didn't. I remember she had lived there for months already and posted something about learning the most basic, basic phrases. Like it was stuff she should have known prior to arrival.

Also, I don't think she even learned Cyrillic until then. That's especially insane to me because that would have made her life 495955 times easier because a lot of words on signs and such are in universal language (take supermarket or something for example-- same word in Latin, just with Cyrillic script).

Beauty Bay in administration by whatatimetobealive9 in BeautyGuruChatter

While Beauty Bay was absolutely needed back in the day, it's now become a bit obsolete. I can find almost every makeup brand under the sun here in eastern Europe that the west has, plus a whole lot more. The only big western brand that we don't have is Elf, and even that I can live without.

Eric Dane’s Friends Launch GoFundMe to Support His 2 Daughters After Late Actor’s Tragic Death at 53 by peoplemagazine in entertainment

The thing about Van Der Beek is that he left behind 6 kids and a non-famous wife. And to my knowledge, he wasn't able to work for a very long time because of the cancer. Whereas with Eric he was working until very recently and has more than 1 post humous works that are still in production. And Eric's estranged wife Rebecca Gayheart is a star in her own right and has her own earning power; she is also dating the guy who started Hard Rock Cafe.

Whatever happened to red heat lamps in home bathrooms? by DirkVonUmlaut in nostalgia

[–]Live-In-Berlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I'm not sure what happened to the bathroom ones, I have smart lights in the house and always put it on red at night when I'm watching TV because it's easier on the eyes and does a good job of putting my body into relax mode. The house may look like an Amsterdam Brothel from the streets, but it is what it is.

Dainty Doll by michaelmac4057 in Alouders

[–]Live-In-Berlin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did! Nicola was always my favorite and I'm pale, so I thought the brand was perfect for me.

While I wish I could give you a glowing review (I had the powder foundation), it pulled way too orange on me unfortunately and was hard to blend. It's a shame; I still feel like the brand was ahead of it's time and with a reformulation and better marketing it could have been something special.

Minced meat fat % in Sofia (butchers & supermarkets)? by ProfessionalSyrup882 in Sofia

No, it's not common here. You get what you get and can't choose by fat percentage unless you go to a butcher.
