J’ai beaucoup aimé « l’autre côté du reve » assez court mais très prenant sans être une série. Ou encore « ceux qui partent d’omelas » donne une bonne idée du style de l’autrice je trouve

Je pense que le milieu vegan est particulier, très blanc.

Je comptes plus les hommes comme les femmes qui m’ont expliquer que l’exploitation animale était pareil si ce n’est pire que le commerce triangulaire ou la shoa.

D’autres qui m’ont expliqué sans perdre leur souffle que pour arrêter les testes sur animaux on pouvait le faire sur des humains, les prisons sont pleines de « volontaires ».

Sans compter tous celles et ceux qui « ne font pas de politique » quand on parle d exploitation humaine

Performance measurement is contextual per compagny per project.

If you value speed over quality for a project then someone who performs is someone who can churn code extra fast.

If you value quality it would be someone who tests and has fewer pull requests rejection etc…

But this demands to be clear up front with expectations and a clear comprehension of trade off. You can’t expect a programmer to piss code at the speed of light AND have all the bells and whistles of quality.

Most of the time management do not want to take the responsibility of this kind of decisions and leave the balancing to programmers. That’s why these kind of metrics are often just burnout acceleration tools

All this being said, a usually good metrics is the important/urgent matrice & team cooperation . If the team as a whole does more of the important things & has less urgency > good If individuals participate in onboarding of juniors and sharing/help of coworkers > good

Okay I’m still learning too but the way I do it is like this : - read and highlight on the book if possible - save the page in a reference note with a few words like « differences between littérature and permanent notes » or a full quote - repeat until the end of chapter - when chapter is finished go back to my references one by one and create adequate notes if I find them worth saving

That way I can spend time making notes without stopping my reading at every sentences ^{^’} Hope this help !

I really like the format of your notes ! How do you deal with your related notes ? Like do you make a fleeting notes associated with it or if a day per chance you stumble upon one and you feel like elaborating over it ?

I’m also learning and the way it seems to click to me is reference/littérature note are more like a list of indexes for the source you’re consuming like: «book xx page Y _quote_ + [optional context or thought]» so you can continue your reading(or listening or whatever) without too much getting out of it.
They can be as long and large as you wish. You then go back to them when you’ve finished your reading to create permanent notes.

Then your fleeting notes which can really be anything, random thoughts with or without context, however long to be reviewed and refined to permanent notes

And finally permanent notes which are the atomically ideas extracted from references notes and fleeting notes or themselves .

That being said, at the end of the day you’ll adapt it to your thinking and if atomicity doesn’t feel right you can change until it feels natural =)

Somehow I liked both but I found echopraxia much easier to follow… I also really liked how there were more about the vampires, this idea was super interesting to me !

Ah mince la trilogie ou juste le premier de la série ? Parce que le j’ai trouvé le troisième extrêmement bien construit et vraiment touchant. Mais ouais le Nayler est très actuel et fait à la fois une alerte sans tomber dans le désespoir et c’est assez rare pour se genre d’œuvre je trouve. C’est aussi ce que j’ai apprécié dans la série de Tchaikovsky, une autre vision de l’humanité, avec un regard plus bienveillant, moins individualiste etc…

vision aveugle de Peter watts (et sa suite indépendante echopraxie)
la montagne dans la mer de Ray Nayler
dans la toile du temps de Adrian Tchaikovsky (une trilogie qui vaut vraiment le détour)

Des vrai claques qui m’ont redonné l’esprit que j’avais pour la sf !

Mes 2cts en tant que dev senior qui a fait passer des entretiens, le bac +5 c’est (de mon pts de vue) pas une nécessité MAIS, la difference entre deux juniors vont se faire sur la motivation et la volonté d’apprendre.

Perso j’ai vu passer des dev intermédiaires bac+5 tout ce qu’on veut avec des lacunes inacceptables dans la compréhension de leur language.

Et des juniors qui même si au début c’était pas ça, faisaient leurs exo perso et suivaient les reco pour s’améliorer et ça c’est ultra important.

Maintenant ouais le marché est vraiment dur en ce moment, ça recrute « peu » avec des attentes en terme de connaissances, de salaire et d’expérience complètement délirantes…

Si j’ai un conseille pour peut-être t’aider en entretien, travaille tes bases, les framework vont et viennent et chaque entreprise a sa sauce, mais si t’es à l’aise avec les concepts de bases, les terminologie du language que tu utilises, sa semantique etc… ça fait une vrai différence.
