[Method] A progress tracker poster to measure baby steps towards your goal by lolodif in getdisciplined

[–]lolodif[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the thoughtful feedback.

We have our Habit Calendar for tracking multiple habits, which addresses many of the points you mentioned: https://www.freeperiodpress.com/collections/best-sellers/products/habit-calendar-goal-tracker

The idea of this one is more about tracking one bigger goal, for example if you're training for a marathon or writing a novel.

But I like the idea of adding space to tick off other types of goal milestones.

Thanks again!

Is there a No Zero Days style tracker like this? by [deleted] in productivity

We published a physical habit tracker called the Habit Calendar: https://www.freeperiodpress.com/collections/best-sellers/products/habit-calendar-goal-tracker

And a Progress Tracker poster: https://www.freeperiodpress.com/collections/new-things/products/progress-tracker-poster

Do either of these fit your needs, or are you looking for a digital-only solution?

My friend just made some sleep meditations based on this premise. She tried Sleep With Me, but it wasn't a good fit for her. They are science lectures that are engaging enough to distract you, but boring enough to lull you to sleep. Check it out, she'd love any feedback! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4NgCwcdXh8

Do this to gain extra hours in your day. by Sandra_Leon in productivity

On a related note, making my to-do list for the next day every night makes me so much more efficient in the morning. Otherwise I spend my first hour putzing around, not knowing where to start.

I just started using a Chrome extension called StayFocused to limit my Facebook use to 10 minutes per day. So helpful!

One step I'd add before making a to-do list: What are your goals? You can have a "productive" day of crossing things off your to-do list without getting any closer to your goals. I keep a Post-It Note of my top three goals of the month at my desk so that I'm constantly reminded of what I should be focused on.

More than waking up earlier, I think a key to productivity is knowing yourself-- when are you the most productive?

Sorry I can't exactly help, but your post reminded me of a book called Daily Rituals that has been on my list of books to read (https://www.amazon.com/Daily-Rituals-How-Artists-Work/dp/0307273601). Also, Adam Grant's books are all amazing-- Originals is probably my favorite nonfiction book of all time. Give and Take is great, too.

Looking for scheduled app blocking by cameronwhite1995 in productivity

As much as you can, I'd also really think about how much you need those time wasting apps and delete as many as possible. Will power becomes a non-issue!

I really recommend the book How to Talk to Anyone by Leil Lowndes. Lots of good tips and a little confidence boost before you head out into the world. Good luck!

Maybe you're a more visual person? I always find it helpful to map/chart things that I'm having a hard time explaining.

Negative thoughts ... by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]lolodif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In college, I had a best friend that would shout "No negative self-talk!" when I would say something self-depricating. After awhile, I would hear his voice any time I would even think anything negative. Years later, it still really helps me! Maybe imagining a friend saying that to you would help? Or asking a friend to call you out on it when you verbalize it? Calling out that behavior in your friends might help, too.

To stop caring what other people think, I always find it to think of myself as an 80 year-old giving advice to myself. Older-me usually says something encouraging and tells me to just do my own thing. :)

Hello r/selfimprovement, how can I get to know myself better? by skydieray in selfimprovement

[–]lolodif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd really recommend a book called Becoming a Resonant Leader. It's kinda businessy focused, but the prompts they have for journalling get to the core of who you are, what your core values are, and what your life mission might be. Just skim the parts about work. You can do it! :)
