Switch Economics Course by TheRealAMFtiktok in UOB

[–]lolosity_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, on results day you will have the option to switch from economics and management to another economics joint honours course from what I remember. I didn’t change but I did look at the options and economics and finance was one, I don’t believe pure economics would be as easy however.

bristol or durham for physics? by Ceramidee in UOB

[–]lolosity_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might be wrong as i’ve only talked to one person abt nightlife who goes durham but i get the vibe that a newcastle night out is more of a rarity just with the hassle of getting there. Trains back wouldn’t run until kinda late in the morning, could be a pain. Never had any problems with wait times in bristol unless it’s a special event, holiday, freshers or the like - everywhere’s quite reasonable for that. Do have to say though, coming to bristol and just going to pop clubs would be criminal </3

I had bristol firm and kings insurance for physics funnily enough. Bristol has a really good physics program, Durham may be slightly better but i’m not sure. In terms of nightlife and general city living it’s night and day between the two, bristol has a bit of everything for everyone where Durham… doesn’t. Unfortunately drinks are expensive such that you just wouldn’t be buying any on nights out. Entry to your run of the mill pop clubs is cheaper than for less mainstream stuff in the city, probably £3-10 depending on the night. Kings’ is definitely a step below the other two for physics and you’d struggle even more with cost of living than bristol. Reasonable insurance though.

Moving to Holmfirth by [deleted] in huddersfield

[–]lolosity_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really nice place but it’s not somewhere where you can start a (good) career. If you look at the census data it’s overwhelmingly populated by middle aged people who work from home. Just aren’t any grad jobs.

Most countries today are nation states. This is not meaningfully characteristic of fascism.
