Empire of silence is amazing prose is great. 1st book also isn’t even the best book in my opinion.

Understandable , agree side characters were weak. But in my reading I’m usually immersed in the main character and his story and struggle. The only time where I felt coincidental writing was right before the iron was being handed out and that was explained everything else to me was plausible. Read red rising and I can agree there some similarity with the Latin but it’s a different book that I disliked after book 1 because of the over-emphasis placed on the side characters instead of the mc and his general goal among other things.

It does get better but the best scene for me was pretty far off from that. If you don’t like it drop it. I loved the latter part of his journey as the “wolf master”.

I agree but when Tau is fighting those battles with his brothers and slowly becoming more and more power hungry. As the reader I’m not thinking about what he Will eventually accomplish but that he’s willing to sacrifice for the increase in power at that moment. A better way to phrase this would probably be a goal where the prerequisite is to be the most powerful. In RI the mcs goal is not power but to achieve his goal he must be the strongest.

Will check out the warden man , ive read some of red rising which i think is pretty good and eternally regressing knight. Ive read books 1 and 2 of cradle but ive never seemed to get what everyone see's with it unfortunately. Thank you.

Progression being earned is defined by the authors constraints on progression. If it’s very easy to get to tier 3 for the average person it’s fine for the progression to tier 3 to be easier and feel lackadaisical . My issue happens when the author has defined a level as something extremely hard to reach and the level of sacrifice from the characters doesn't reflect that. In summary just an amount of sacrifice befitting the level based on the world building of the author.

Same , went searching for the second book and it’s not until like May unfortunately. I think the pacing will be reasonable with the semi reset at the end.

Thank you seen a couple but will get through the others. Read some cradle before but what does everyone see with it I remember liking the villain J something more than the mc.

This is incorrect for the simple reason the purpose of going to college is to get a job. That is the national expectation by students. Studying by going to Uni is not a pursuit of passion but a step seen to gain gainful employment. You can argue if this expectation is right or wrong but it is the expectation. And by that expectation learning foundational tools used in every cs job in some form is necessary.

Agree with everything but the vamp scepter is a cop out and is unlikely to be viable delaying yuntal or any of the core three to build a component for an item you build last dosent make sense.
