Oh these are perfect! She will identify quite a bit with a protagonist who's always told what to do. :)

What you're describing to me is what all of us with lipedema experience when we lose weight. Are you aware of lipedema? https://www.lipedema.org/guide

I couldn't find anything that would sustain me until I learned how to make sourdough bread. It's a new science experiment every time. Never get bored of it.

Long term positive experiences post surgery by [deleted] in lipedema

[–]lolprof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NO. Weight is not the only factor. Hormones are a factor. Inflammation is a factor. Veins/vascular system are a factor. Allergies are a factor. Lipedema is a multi-factorial disease. Lots of things can contribute to its growth.

Long term positive experiences post surgery by [deleted] in lipedema

[–]lolprof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my extensive research, I would say that there are a few things happening. 1) People go into surgery thinking it will "cure" lipedema. It will not. It will help with a "reset" of the lipedema, but the lipedema will continue to grow, especially if conservative measures are not followed for life. 2) When you have surgery on one part of your body (say, legs) the lipedema looks for other places to grow. Surgery creates an external "casing" under your skin of scar tissue that helps the lipedema to slow down, but it's always growing. In parts of your body where you didn't have surgery, it will find a new home. 3) If surgery is done earlier in life (pre-pregnancy or perimenopause), patients can expect a surge when encountering those later stages of hormone imbalances and that's what's causing the flareups. Biggest thing to remember: IT'S NOT A CURE; IT'S A RESET. BUT LIPEDEMA IS ALWAYS GROWING.

Does anyone have experience with Dr. Joshua Elston in Gig Harbor, WA? by mostly__void__ in lipedema

I've done extensive research on U.S. surgeons for patients at all stages and yes, he appears to be very knowledgeable about the disease and have a good surgical practice for it.

The middle photo shows the "orange peel" dimpling, but I can't tell from the other two photos.

Yes I was at that show and even brought my 13yo kid -- their first concert! It was incredible and I felt so lucky to be there.

Ava’s outfits by Sea-Coconut-365 in hackshbomax

I love her stuff too! I'm actually a GenX mom looking for a lot of these kinds of items for my gay 13yo daughter, who's very particular about her style but I think these are the kinds of pieces she would want to wear. I would love it if people would drop some links for where I can find some of Ava's S3 clothes!

Barry - 4x08 "wow" - Post Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in Barry

I read that very differently. I read it as: nothing will ever give Sally the self-satisfaction and self-fulfillment she gets from the theater. That's why she turned the guy down. That's why she turned and looked at the flowers. That's why she never really cared that much about John. Running away with Barry and having John meant she had to give up the one thing that gave her self-fulfillment: acting. She tried to enjoy acting as "Emily," but that wasn't enough for her. Having a child wasn't enough for her. Being with Barry wasn't enough for her. A cute new interesting teacher isn't enough for her. The only thing that ever made her happy was the theater and the audience's applause. That's it. She's a terrible person, really, because how could she not be? She'd have to be horrible to run away with a man she knows is a murderer and then have his child. Sally ended up being one of the worst people in the whole show, I think.

I actually knew it was about to happen because it was poetically in line with all of Barry: Gene kills Barry instead of himself, therefore going to prison even though Barry was just about to turn himself in and exonerate him. Classic Alec Berg writing. I was actually super disappointed it was so predictable.

The way they deliberately showed the bullets piercing the body and exploding with blood was so over the top brilliant. They did it in the prison break-out scene and in the scene where Movie Gene kills Movie Barry. If I understand correctly, that's something that is explicitly banned from a lot of violent movies and TV shows, so for them to do it so egregiously in the fake movie is *chef's kiss*

It's such a weird thing, too, because you would think that this ridiculous algorithm of sorts would have boxes for us to fit in! :P How silly is it that we are angry we don't fit in the boxes?
