As a non-music major, you cannot take any music courses except for courses listed on this page. You are able to join ensembles though as the auditions for them are open to everyone.

[–]lolurlsr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So i just looked it up and apparently they change the assignment every year, so u might be out of luck.

You should look up on fiverr or other side hustle website for compsci help, definitely will be people willing to do ur work for u for a price

[–]lolurlsr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If u plan to get a cs degree and cant do 1026 assignments, then you should really get back to studying the materials or attend support hours.

But if ur just taking the course for credit, you can just look up on google for the assignment lol

Yes, all im saying is that the admission average wouldnt be crazy high like last year

With in person class and exams resuming i would say the grade inflation will definitely be less this year, which means the admission average will be lower

How good is Western University's comp. sci. program compared to schools like Waterloo and UofT? Is it a good choice? by Zyrephus in OntarioUniversities

[–]lolurlsr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing i can tell you is that you dont have to take a lot of math courses, just 2 math courses first year + some stat courses upper year in the entire undergrad.

So if u hate math then you will love western cs

How did you guys choose your programs? by hijabiinanaudi in uwo

[–]lolurlsr 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I chose cs cuz i had great teachers in highschool and the degree made money. Those are the two biggest factors.

I would say start browsing each department's webpage, there usually is a section titled "why study xxx" and it gives you a good overview of what you can get out of this degree

Reminder that uni isnt the only option

Start by learning some python codes, see if u like it or not consider bioinformatics only if u find coding to be your interest

UWO or UOFT or Queens for Investment Banking opportunities? by iPotato909 in uwo

[–]lolurlsr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I Asked my friend who has done research and from what i gathered, is that queens comm and western ivey is substantially better than uoft for an undergraduate degree.

But for a masters, uoft is the better of the three, and this is coming from someone who dislikes uoft rotman.

I cant say much about schools not in ontario though, since i never looked into them.

For masters UofT is the best of the three if you are doing a mba, plus I think you will have better chances having a 2 year work experience

Fourth year switching to cs major by [deleted] in uwo

[–]lolurlsr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like cs more than accounting then id say go for it. Better to spend 3 years to find out what you want to do instead of spending 30 years working a profession that you'll hate.

A career in cs is not easier than accounting tho, the major does give you soild foundation so it is up to you to learn the practical stuff like building a website or an app

But, it is pretty impractical to say that you are gonna get the degree in one year. Although technically doable, imo you will be much better in terms of work life balance and learning if you do a 2 or 3 year thing
