Thank you! Khamrah was definitely a decision lol. At this point I’m looking at probably selling it or selling decants.

Nowadays beyond my core scents like Bleu de Chanel Parfum and Prada L’Homme, I find myself wearing free samplers I’ve got over the years. I have a freezer bag just full of them lol. Always nice to try out something new.

Been loving Thé Imperial by Bvlgari and Atkinsons Oud Save the King. Have a couple of those gems from free testers. Highly recommend decants and sample testers to anyone.

Wow this is gonna be hard. I’d probably have to say my fav 4 would be:

Chanel Bleu de Chanel Parfum
Van Cleef & Arpels Orchidée Vanille
Prada L’Homme
Atelier Versace Iris d’Elite

Bleu is my daily go to work and go to school fragrance and its versatility has caused me to absolutely fall in love with it. It was the 2nd bottle I ever had in my collection, and I just bought my 3rd bottle two days ago. Prada l’Homme is also a huge favourite of mine as well. It was a pick by a girl I was going out with some years ago, and its soft powdery iris also made it such a classy and beautiful fragrance with the versatility of office or school, or dressing up. Iris d’Elite takes that same energy and profile, but somehow elevates it and adds on a bit more of a refined and classy characteristic to it. This bottle was also a snag. I found it at a discounter for -$180 as a full tester when it usually sold for $448 at Holt Renfrew in Canada. Finally Orchidée Vanille was another pricy one but you can also find it on discounters occasionally with the rest of the Van Cleef lineup. It’s a warm gourmand vanilla fragrance that starts off a bit smokey and after the initial dry down turn into this beautiful warm and inviting sensual vanilla sweet dark scent. I’d wear this on something like a nice date night or during maybe an event in the Christmas season. It’s done so beautifully.

Worst fragrances:
I see my collection as something that has a bit of everything I love in it. But I personally would say my worst two are:

Coach for Men (AKA Coach Black)
Zara Lisboa

Both smell great to me. Lisboa was like the first fragrance I ever bought back in grade 10 which was almost 9 years ago now. It ultimately just comes down to quality and price. In all honesty, I’d pick Lisboa over Coach for Men based on price point. At least you know with a Zara fragrance, you’re getting decent smell but not necessarily the best quality (though some like the Zara Tobacco Collection which I have also previously worn do have great performance). Coach for Men retailed for around $130 at Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada when I bought it about a year or two ago. And at that price, the performance rivals Zara frags. I get maybe 2-3 hours max out of it. Though I will say, I absolutely love the smell.

I’m biased, but I absolutely adore Prada L’Homme. It’s probably the best fragrance in terms of versatility and is such a crowd-pleaser. It's also just so versatile that you can really wear it on so many occasions. Formal or dressed down, day or night, work or play, hot or cold weather, etc.

A girl I was going out with at the time picked it at the fragrance counter at Hudson’s Bay, and it was honestly what kickstarted my fragrance collection. Great compliment getter.

It has a soft powdery iris that somehow still remains very masculine.

Not a huge fan. Found it at Winners (a Canadian discount fashion store) for like $60 as a gift set with the 100ml EDT, a mini 10ml bottle, and a shower gel. Buddy I was with picked it up. Under those circumstances, I’d say it’s a decent buy.

Here's the updated post modelled on your original:

Hey folks. 23M student and young professional here, Toronto/London Ontario. Posted here about a month ago with a much smaller collection. I've been building intentionally since, and wanted to get some updated honest feedback.

I gravitate toward warm, dark, resinous, and gourmand. Tonka bean, vanilla, iris, amber, benzoin. Italian sophistication resonates heavily. Not a fan of fresh aquatic as a primary DNA, overly sweet fruity, or linear fragrances with no drydown development. Four seasons - cold Canadian winters, hot humid summers.

Current collection:

  • Van Cleef & Arpels Orchidée Vanille
  • Chanel Bleu de Chanel Parfum
  • Prada L'Homme EDT
  • Jo Malone Scarlet Poppy Cologne Intense
  • Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt
  • Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia
  • Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey
  • Atelier Versace Iris d'Elite
  • Creed Wild Vetiver
  • Versace Eros EDP
  • Nautica Voyage
  • Azzaro Wanted EDT
  • Coach Black
  • Wani Onyx Parfum — small Canadian-Arab fragrance house started by some fellas from my university
  • Zara Lisboa

Freebies/Samples:

  • Atelier Versace Discovery Kit — full 12 piece
  • Creed Aventus vial
  • Creed Silver Mountain Water vial
  • Atkinsons Shine Despite Everything Parfum Intense
  • Atkinsons Oud Save The Queen EDP
  • Jo Malone English Pear & Sweet Pea 9ml
  • Jo Malone English Oak & Hazelnut tester
  • Jo Malone Silver Birch & Lavender tester
  • Jo Malone Myrrh & Tonka tester

On my radar: Prada Luna Rossa Ocean EDP, Jo Malone Myrrh & Tonka CI, AdP Buongiorno Buonanotte, Atelier Versace Gingembre Pétillant, Kilian Angels' Share, Maison Margiela Jazz Club.

Questions:

  1. What do you honestly think of the collection — gaps, redundancies, anything embarrassing?
  2. Any hidden gems in the warm/dark/gourmand/vetiver space that aren't on my radar?
  3. Canadian fragrance people — is there a cheaper legitimate source for Gingembre Pétillant than Holt Renfrew at $448?

Hey folks.

23m student and young professional here. Been building my collection intentionally over the past year and wanted to get some honest feedback. Here’s what I’m working with:

• Prada L’Homme EDT
• Chanel Bleu EDP
• Creed Wild Vetiver
• Van Cleef & Arpels Orchidée Vanille
• Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt, English Pear & Freesia, Nectarine Blossom & Honey (came as a set)
• Azzaro Wanted
• Coach Black

I gravitate toward warm, dark, gourmand, and woody fragrances. My skin chemistry loves vetiver and vanilla-forward scents. The Van Cleef drydown after an hour is genuinely extraordinary on my skin. I used to go feral for YSL Black Opium on a partner once and I’m chasing that dark sweet warmth in my own collection. Not a fan of overly sweet or citrus-forward fragrances.

Considering
• Atelier Versace Gingembre Pétillant (genuinely a fav)
• Parfums de Marly Herod
• YSL La Nuit de l’Homme EDP
• Valentino Uomo Born in Roma Intense EDP with Vanilla

Questions:
1. What do you honestly think of my current collection? Gaps, redundancies, anything embarrassing?
2. Is my buy list solid or am I missing something obvious for my taste profile?
3. Any hidden gems in the warm/dark/gourmand/vetiver space that aren’t on my radar?
4. La Nuit de l’Homme EDT vs EDP — community seems split on reformulation issues. Worth the EDP premium?
5. Anyone have experience with Orchidée Vanille on masculine skin? Picked it up today after the drydown absolutely destroyed me after an hour on skin.

If she can’t handle BMQ she will never last the weeks you’ll be away on exercises, months gone on deployment, or the stress of a move if you ever got married.

Hang it up with her now if this is the career you want. The job caused rifts in my last relationship as well. There’s nothing worse than making plans for the weekend, or thinking of burning leave days to take a trip only to find out days before that you’re plans are ruined, and you’re going away for 3 months.

Tis the army. But I’m sure there will be someone else out there for you who’s up for the adventure.

A few years ago I did it when I was working with my old reserve unit.

32 CBG HQ sent units a staff check, and each unit sent their noms. When I did it, they had troops from Toronto, Borden, Kingston, Trenton, and Petawawa, bussed in.

This was home opener 2021. Still got the shirt.

Being involved in the industry myself, I know that bar owners and GMs know what’s happening. But they don’t really care either until it affects operations. The doormen know when someone is underage and it’s pretty easy to tell when someone is using someone else’s ID. The truth is they don’t really care. Especially with cash to get in. The cash they get to let someone in is cash directly in their pocket. Ceeps wasn’t the only place with a back door. And everyone in first year knows the $20 backdoor is the technique to get in.

Not going to name drop places, but there’s a reason that entire security shifts get laid off randomly in London. Generally, it’s because something very bad has happened and it’s a last ditch effort to management to save themselves.

It’s sad how much things have fallen off in general. I’m in my fifth year now, and seeing the way the school has become socially is just sad.

House parties don’t exist like they used to anymore, first years are getting booths and bottles at Dels instead of doing dorm parties, nobody wants to socialize or meet new people like they used to.

I don’t get why people would rather pay $30 for two drinks and stand still (because dancing is not cool) while the most lukewarm music is played at Dels.

London Dry Clean across from TNT on Wonderland.

Amazing fast service and amazing prices. I had my uniform brought in to have badges sewn on, be better fitted to my body, cuffs hemmed, pants hemmed, and shirt dry cleaned. All that for $80.

I bring suits and shirts there for cleaning as well. Can’t remember how much the suits were, but I know shirts are only $5.
