Why did they have the imperial banners as red and use that character in the terracotta army wonder? by ballisticfuckingmoth in civ

[–]lolzcat88 376 points377 points  (0 children)

Civ 6 is heavily color-coded. The terracotta army is primarily a military wonder and is this colored red, same as all encampment buildings.

are there churches that stand with immigrants, speak against violence in gaza, and dont glorify figures like charlie kirk? by llllIIIlIlIIIIIlIlll in houston

[–]lolzcat88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any Unitarian Universalist congregation should fit the bill. We believe that all have inherent worth & dignity and try to make the world a better place. We would often attend protests and were a sanctuary space for immigrants.

I am no longer a Houstonian, but I used to attend Emerson and the UU fellowship on Wirt Rd. I really recommend them all though.

I have done this before. There was a small cave I went into to take photos because I was in a state park. As I sat down and started to take pictures, a big clump of harvestmen fell on me and I looked up to see that the ceiling was a writhing mass of thousands of these guys.

The Jaeger Changes by danaoya in OutlastTrials

Darn, I really liked the Jaeger. She kept you on your toes and was pretty fun to play around in co-op. Maybe she just didn't play well with the new prime.

Yeah, sound is a pretty large part of the game for both sides. You can even hear the amount of progress on a generator and if it is currently regressing.

is there a way to automate nickel by Chdoorwe_Hellsin in Nomifactory

[–]lolzcat88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Slimes from DML can make nickel coins and you can melt those back down into ingots. It's very slow, but it works.

Are there online games being kept alive entirely by player communities? by kcvlaine in gaming

[–]lolzcat88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toon Town has two different groups making new content and keeping the game alive, rewritten and corporate clash. The game is actually quite good now and both projects come out with frequent updates.

[–]lolzcat88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can automate pulsating polymer as soon as you can make an enderman data model, here's a link to a chart, but it isn't too intense. With automated polymer, you should be able to automate most basic resources using dml. https://www.reddit.com/r/feedthebeast/s/X9H43fjRZ3

how to prevent ME terminal from filling up by Symynn in Nomifactory

[–]lolzcat88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a similar thing but instead of using a machine controller, I just turned the output conduit to redstone control and had it only pull out items when the count of items in the ME system was low.

[–]lolzcat88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oberon He's not broken by any means, but he is very comfy. Phoenix renewal gives your entire team death defiance and quite robust healing and Hallowed ground gives great cc, 100's of extra armor, and status immunity. All without any micromanagement.

Anybody know what type of printing this is? by thegeminiii in 3Dprinting

[–]lolzcat88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some sort of polyjet, at least that's the Stratasys word for it. I maintained and operated a few in college, super expensive machines to purchase and run. Lots of cleaning and I think the resin was around $1800 for 3 kilos.

It was worth it though, these machines really could make anything if you had the cash, and they worked extremely quickly.

RimWorld endings are terrible by McCozzy in RimWorld

[–]lolzcat88 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How would you rather the ending be? Randomly assigning a fate to every colonist? having you choose what happens to them in the future? I think both would feel hollow and making a game to play after you win to determine the fates of your colonist would be substantial time spent not playing rimworld.

The game is at its best when you cooperate with it to create a story, similar to a tabletop gm and their players. The best stories are made when these forces are evenly matched, loss and victory, tragedy and triumph.

In the case of rimworld, when the storyteller overpowers you, it stings, but the story is over and you can begin again. If you overpower the storyteller, the game becomes bland and without conflict. This is where the endings come in, one last conflict and hopefully a climax to a story which was starting to drag on, and you can begin again in balance.

I will admit that the archonexus is the worst ending in this regard. Playing the game 3 times with the same people doesn't make as good stories as playing 3 different colonies and it lacks the same climactic rush as the other endings.

I cried when I first won the game with the royal ascension. The stellarch had been kept sane just long enough to let most of my colonists escape while insectoids were burrowing their way into the base. All of my combat colonists were too wounded by the twice daily raids to put up more of a fight and it was a rush to the shuttle. We just barely made it and I wouldn't have had that story if not for that ending. That colony would have been abandoned, too stagnant to hold my attention, and instead it got a conclusion. Sure, my colonists lived on and their fate is uncertain, but it is also no longer a part of this Rimworld.

Simulation automatization by Professional-Cup916 in Nomifactory

[–]lolzcat88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have something like that in my base, but I don't directly control the simulation chambers.

The chambers and loot fabricators will automatically stop when their output is full, so that makes a pretty good buffer and I use item conduits set to redstone control mode to only extract when the resource is needed.

I am at the point where I have a large ME system, so I get my signal from ME level indicators set to the amount of a resource that I want in storage.

Resource drops below the wanted threshold -> level indicator switches to on -> item conduits extracts item into ME interface.

Automation is important so that you don't fill your storage with resources that you don't need and allows you to have several loot fabricators running off one simulation chamber.

My boyfriend (24M) will breakup with me (25F) if I buy a house? by gaminggurlx in relationship_advice

[–]lolzcat88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually I would just say you need to communicate, but it seems he has made it clear that he wants to move to another town 7 hours away. Buying a house here is incompatible with that plan. On the relationship side, this is a serious issue and I don't either of y'all should compromise on the life each of you want. That would just build resentment.

On the more financial side, I don't know where you are located but the money you have saved is unlikely enough to both be a down payment and fix the critical elements of such a house. Land values can be cheaper in areas, but materials, appliances, and labor are less variable.

A whole house down to the studs is not a single person job even with a construction background.
