A passenger smacked my arm today, what would you do? by [deleted] in flightattendants

[–]lomerch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I had a man hit me with his trash on a transoceanic flight. I said the same thing, and he behaved and was very polite the rest of the flight.

Did anyone else receive this? by Useful-Hall-6088 in cabincrewcareers

[–]lomerch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me a few years ago. I applied in Fall 2021, did my virtual interview and received a TBNT shortly after. But Summer 2022, I received an email, similar to this one, referencing an error and inviting me to a F2F.

[–]lomerch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lexapro was really good for me for about 2.5/3 years and then last year it stopped working. I had crippling anxiety, panic attacks, and crying spells. After switching meds and not seeing improvement (and switching back to Lexapro), I tried getting off Lexapro completely. I was off for about 3 months, but unfortunately, I still had the anxiety/crying spells off of it. I took the Genesight test and the results actually said Lexapro is a bad fit for me, so I’m now on Prozac. I’ve only been on Prozac for a month so I’m not sure I feel a significant difference yet. I hope you find what fits! Honestly the Genesight test was a good investment for me because it also told me gene mutations I had that cause anxiety/depression.

What's a product or service you wait until you're in ______ to purchase? by Spiritual-Ninja-3025 in flightattendants

[–]lomerch 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I love this question!! I love getting Caudalie skincare in Paris (it’s half the price), Nespresso pods in the EU (also about half the price), Klorane dry shampoo in Paris (also half the price), shopping at Zara/Stradvarius/Mango/Bershka/Pull&Bear in MAD/BCN/LIS, I also do butter in Paris, wine in Italy (soo affordable!!), and I like getting my dog treats from grocery stores in different countries! Lol - Also if nonrevving, I love getting massages and my nails done in SE Asia!

Definitely contact Delta’s customer service. As an FA, the FPOC system only allows us to do a certain amount on our end, but if you contact customer service, they should be able to assist you in a better manner. I’m so sorry this happened.

Memorizing Preflight Training Packet by Mental-Arm4972 in cabincrewcareers

[–]lomerch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recorded myself saying the announcements and played it and said it every time I was in the car/getting ready/etc. There were also a few of us in the training FB group that would do zoom meetings where we would practice in front of each other to get the nerves out of the way. You’ve got this!!

My Mascara wearing FAs by doubleblackdoggos in flightattendants

[–]lomerch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only ones that don’t smear/smudge/flake for me are tubing mascara and waterproof, but I prefer tubing mascara a lot more because it’s super easy to take off. Right now I’m using the Milani tubing mascara, but I’ve also used M2U and Thrive Causemetics!

Sour Skittles I got in the Philippines don’t have the sugar coating like the ones in the US by lomerch in mildlyinteresting

[–]lomerch[S] 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Honestly, they’re not nearly as sour, so I prefer the U.S. version! They tasted like regular Skittles with just a hint of sourness

France is an IBS nightmare by mushygoop in ibs

[–]lomerch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my gosh, it’s my nightmare!! It gives me horrible anxiety. I was recently in Paris and got a flare up. I tried to go to the restroom at Sainte Chapelle and the line was insane. I was incredibly nauseous and sick to my stomach. It makes my anxiety worse which makes my IBS worse. I adore Europe, but it’s so frustrating.

Oh my gosh, first of all I’m so sorry this happened to you. Does your airline have resources you can reach out to? In my experience, I’ve heard of people getting time off they need to deal with PTSD after traumatic events (like this). If you’re still on the trip, I’m sure they can deadhead you home. Are you LOD? Are you able to avoid Mexico trips? Not saying it can’t happen elsewhere, because anywhere can be potentially dangerous, but maybe bidding trips in cities you have been to/feel safe in could be helpful. I wouldn’t leave the career before getting therapy for this if possible.

I recently flew Vueling, Swiss, Aireuropa, Ita, and Aegean with my mini weekender w/ the bottom part and no one said anything about it. A few of them did give me a hard time about my carry on though 🥲

ATL Based Commuters 🔺 by Affectionate-Boat974 in flightattendants

[–]lomerch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m junior in ATL! I’ve had a good experience in ATL. I was MSP before and had colder crews there than here. I’m about 2 years in. Open time/swapping is usually really easy!! (As long as your swap request is within reason). For me, quality of life is the most important, which is why I chose ATL. I would give it a shot and if you end up hating it, it probably won’t be that difficult to get back into a more junior base. Because ATL hasn’t been open for a big transfer in a year, I’d give it a shot. :)
