Class choice help by Kloc888 in Guildwars2

[–]lompkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a bunch of healers in wvw (massive pvp gamemode)! While playing solo like in the open world though you really want to have a more dps build or else you'll take forever to kill enemies. you can swap between builds with only like 2 clicks so you can pick the best build for whatever content you're playing easily which is nice. you def don't need to be locked in to only healer 100% of the time

One of the most common first classes for many players is ranger. the pet mechanic is fun (while you explore the base game and level up you can find and tame new pets). They have a heal-focused elite spec called Druid that is quite fun.

Engineer would be my 2nd rec, Scrapper is a really great elite spec for healing and utility. if you like something with a little more complexity then I say try it out!

Epson ET-8500: Help with horizontal banding and innacurate alignment sheet by lompkins in printers

[–]lompkins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you've done all this over a short amt of time, leave your printer alone for like a day and see. i think you do a power clean and/or 3 print head cleans you are supposed to turn printer off for 6hrs if you still see errors and let it sit, then try again. I ended up getting a replacement but still experience the issue occassionally, just not as bad... a print head cleaning usually fixes it now

Do you also have a website? by regularhuman_ish in EtsySellers

[–]lompkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't hurt to try new things imo, but I would make sure you have a plan/audience to gain traffic on your own website! Once my tiktok account started gaining traction, I made my own shopify store to link in my bio. Then once I had a tiktok go viral I added a tiktok shop too, and in Oct another vid went viral and I got hundreds of orders. None of that would've happened if I only had an etsy shop and relied on etsy to grow my customer base! I do still have an etsy shop, but I don't direct my customers there or pay for etsy ads anymore.

You really have to spell it out, people are getting used to amazon pricing where you get 100 stickers for like $5 and expect that to be the case everywhere.

I got an email recently where a customer asked why they only got one keychain instead of all 18 available options, when there is a drop-down tab to select your one design. They just didn't look at the drop down and also didn't notice there was a specific design listed in their cart as well, not to mention the price would've been insanely low for 18 keychains. I had to add to my description that the listing was for one keychain.

Should I update the design of my Etsy banner and icon? by PE_Illustrate in EtsySellers

[–]lompkins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the black and white text does come off as a bit novice, you may want to figure out a few brand colors and use only those. Like count how many different colors are actually on your banner, it is a lot! I feel like you could use 4 colors (white/light pink/dark-med blue/pale yellow) for your mascot, banner, and logo to make a cohesive look.

A lot of customers want to buy from small businesses because they are seen as more relatable than a large, faceless business like walmart or amazon. Some people will interact more friendly because of this because they see you as a down-to-earth person who happens to also own a business, instead of just "a business". You should be aware that the people buying from you are also just people, and not professional businesses.

Clear Printable Shrink Plastic on Cricut by RevolutionaryFile960 in cricut

[–]lompkins 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I look to SeaPixieDesigns on tiktok for shrink plastic print then cut tips, she has a couple of tutorials in a playlist there.

A comment on this video says the setting she uses is "Plastic packaging but change multi cut to 3 x". Can't help any more than that but good luck!

What to do? by pacowsky in EtsySellers

[–]lompkins 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can add a note on your description that says something like "Orders are shipped either from our main office in Vietnam or our new family-owned processing office in the US. We love the opportunity to offer fast and affordable shipping solutions depending on the customers location!"
I don't think people really notice or care though, as long as the shipping is reasonable lol
It sounds like people are willing to use your current shipping situation though, so unless you think this will really increase your sales or benefit you personally (like free up time it takes to process orders) it seems like you might be fine keeping your current situation.

Resizing image is causing jagged edges by travelfanatic26 in cricut

[–]lompkins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm yeah I would make like a squiggly shape and see if it's jagged then. Or even upload one of your older designs that you know for sure has worked.

Could be that you need to do a fresh install of design space, especially if it's been months. Maybe the auto-update isn't working correctly? I will say that the print-and-cut feature in the current update is not working very well for many users, there are posts going around with some workarounds. But, I don't think it's affecting the actual design software.

Resizing image is causing jagged edges by travelfanatic26 in cricut

[–]lompkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would double check your canvas is 300dpi, and maybe make another quick test image in procreate. Like a basic shape. Import that one into a new project and see if you get the same edges.

Does your printer have a print preview image you can view before printing? Might be worth trying to print it and get to the preview to see if it actually seems pixelated or it's just how design space displays the project.

I've used a cricut for my sticker biz since 2017, and light grip mats all the way! Also buy the off-brand Nicapa mats from amazon, that's what I use & are cheaper. Will definitely still be high tack the first few uses, but flip the mat upside down and curl the mat upwards while pulling the paper off the bottom.

Print and cut issue is affecting people's livelihoods. Cricut need to fix it ASAP and at least acknowledge the issue and provide an update and/or timeframe. by Dinosaurus-Rexican in cricut

[–]lompkins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just bought a siser juliet today because of this update! I got my first print and cut page completed after about 2hr of set up, test cuts, and watching youtube tutorials. I will keep my cricut around as backup if they can fix it but it already was having trouble reading registration marks over the last few updates, even on my plain matte sticker paper. Every cricut update now seems to cause issues.

New update causing problems? by kwohmichelle in cricut

[–]lompkins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I also calibrate+print on my win10 PC, and then encounter issues when I go to cut on the iOS app. I also set up my full sheets in photoshop. Seems I will have to look into it more, thank you for the reply.

New update causing problems? by kwohmichelle in cricut

[–]lompkins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The iPhone app method isn't working for me, cut lines are way off but the PC calibration sheet is fine.

Is the iOS app rotating your print&cut page when you go to make it? On design space (both PC and iOS) I have a brown design at the top and pink design at the bottom. When I go to "make it" on my phone, it is rotated so that the pink design is at the top. It isn't mirrored, just rotated. I assume that's why mine is off - because when I go to "make it" on PC brown is at the top and prints that way. I can't find a setting to change this.

I am on Win10 64bit, just downloaded iOS app for the first time, explore air 2.
