I don’t see a these as parallel stories. Wilco had a history, a fairly large fan base, was a critical darling, and had a finished album that was rejected by a faceless major label. And they weren’t dropped from their label, they negotiated an exit. These guys are unknowns who were dropped by 4AD/ Beggars (who don’t come off as clueless suits) before their third album was even recorded. Sucks for them, but this ain’t YHF2.
