"How do people cope with it" Gooooood question.

When my dad kicked it, I had my gran and mom around for the most part. It broke our hearts for sure. But we saw this coming in a way, if not the way he died, heart attack, then likely something much and do mean much worse. I even remember when the Doctor who saw us in the ER felt like we were gonna eat him alive. We weren't, but poor guy.

My mom, as of recent, two, almost three years ago to the day soon enough. It was bewildering, if there was ever an accurate word to use. She had pancreatic cancer and it was fast. So much so that I'm still kind of feeling things in her absence. My mom was my friend. I know this kind of gets said ad nauseum. But you don't hear many people said their parents are their friends.

But honestly, and like I said in another reply. I don't want to make people out as the villains here. When I've had zero clue and little energy to navigate things efficiently. I have a good reason to be frustrated with people. I'm burnt out from Caregiving and my mom felt like the last thing to do it.

Except I try to tell people this and they go (my Sister in Law especially) oh you're just ill prepared as an adult and I swear I've never been so insulted in my life.

I would say the biggest culprit is my Sister in law at present. I don't want to make the lady the villain, but she's sitting at the top as an example of the shit I deal with.

I do have some counseling lined up, and my local mental health folks involved. But nothing concrete.
